Hi Boy Drive In

The food was amazing as always!!! The staff on the other hand...not so much. They messed up my order and when I drove back to get it fixed the staff were very rude. What I'm assuming was the entire (5 or 6 people) congregated at the window and we're belligerent. They demanded my receipt (which I wasn't given) and started raising their voices at me. When I said I didn't want to argue and wanted to just pay again for what I already had paid for the rudeness didn't stop. I paid again and they shut the window and began bad mouthing my wife and I because they thought we couldn't hear them. I live out of town but I'm an independence native and grew up eating HiBoys. I try to stop by whenever I'm in town but never at this location again. I will be going to the 24 highway location from now on. I have never received bad service or bad food at that location in over 35 years. The food gets 5 stars as always the service and the staff get 0 stars.

I didn't realize I needed to take out a loan to pay for 6 chicken nuggets, a small chocolate shake and 2 sandwiches. It was over $ 30.00. Outrageous. They say if you buy the daily "special " which is a sandwich they give you a drink free. That "special sandwich " was almost $10.00. For that kind of money I should have gotten back rub !! As much as I love their food it ain't all that !! I can't afford to eat there. How 😥

If you get nothing else from here, I would HIGHLY suggest the onion rings (buy two if you *really* like onion rings. I'm serious.) And their red cream soda!! They're to die for! HiBoy has been a very important staple for my childhood and before you immediately think negatively, it's pretty far from where I live so I would only get it once a year with my grandmother and my mom, after visiting the cemetery on Memorial Day. So I may a little biased but it was good then, it's good now. It's definitely worth the drive to me. ❣🙏🏻

Be advised, this restaurant is currently drive-thru only. Maybe that matters to you, maybe it doesn't. Either way it's worth a visit! The burgers we got were hot and the cheese was melted so nicely. The standard toppings seem to be pickles and diced onions with some kind of ketchup (or catsup if you're fancy) and mustard mixture for a sauce. I didn't see the toppings listed on the menu, but I was in panic mode and didn't look over the menu that well. My husband got the chicken sandwich. Instead of mayonnaise, this place uses a jalapeño ranch and he devoured it. I didn't try it because he threatened to bite me if I tried. (I'm ok, don't send help). Bottom line, it was fast, it was hot, and it was not health food.

The food quality was insanely mundane. The burgers were flattened and dry, the fries were barely even warm. I ordered mozzarella sticks and to go with the mediocrity of them they gave me cold, congealed marinara. For two meals it was nearly $35! Overhyped, underwhelming, and ridiculously expensive for the quality.

A staple since my childhood. I can't say a single negative thing because everything is truly delicious. The burgers are fresh, hot, and I love that signature slight caramelization of the beef. The onion rings are THE BEST onion rings I've ever had, perfect batter, great mix of savory, slightly sweet, salty and crunchy. The perfect accompaniment to this meal has to be the cherry limeade, which is just amazing and refreshing. You may want to order two!
