Chuong Garden Resturant

Just ordered from here, and it was pretty good. Ordering takeout, it took about 10 minutes to receive our food. The host was nice. The food was good. We ordered shrimp lo mean, general tsos chicken, and hot and sour soup. The lo mein was great, but I was hoping for more shrimp. The hot and sour soup was perfect! As we sat inside and waited for our food, it was quiet and not too busy. The building and tables all seemed clean. I rated 4/5 stars because I tried to call and order ahead of time, and no one answered the phone.

Mom & I stumbled across this hidden gem while visiting family in the area. Our server was very friendly & personable. He admitted to not knowing exactly what was in one dish we were interested in, but quickly offered to ask the chef & came back with the details. We split an order of fried dumplings, which were excellent. I had the Mongolian Beef & Mom had the General Tso Chicken. Both dishes were flavorful & delicious. We wound up meeting the chef as we were leaving and thanked him for a wonderful meal. Will DEFINITELY go back there the next time we're in the area!

Open for sit down dining or carry out, and the food is worth it! The owner/head cook is an experienced chef who cooked in 4-star Hiltons before choosing Independence Iowa to open his own restaurant. In fact, the food is even better post pandemic! Some offerings are gluten-free, but are prepared in the same kitchen.
