Sangiovese Ristorante

We often come to this restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries (it’s my favorite). Tonight was birthday and we forgot to make a reservation. We went at 6 hoping to get a table, and were sat immediately after walking through the doors. About 5 minutes after we were seated, the manager came over to us and said the hostess had made a mistake and our table was actually reserved and asked if we could move to the bar. My husband immediately wanted to leave, and I said no it’s fine we will sit at the bar. Our food was absolutely amazing, the bartender Molly was absolutely amazing, and it completely made up for the slightly embarrassing move after we were seated. Our bill was comp’d by half, and we left extremely happy. Thank you guys for making an effort to make us happy and comfortable. We will always come back to this place and celebrate our special moments.

Loved it! We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. She said the lasagna was the best she's ever had. I had a chef's special salmon with lump crab and capers. It was fantastic. We REALLY loved the baked goat cheese appetizer. Wonderful! They even served us a complimentary tiramasu dessert. Great! The service was excellent. Great restaurant. I hope to go back often.

The food was amazing. As a native New Yorker, I've had a hard time finding what I consider to be "good" Italian food since I've moved to Indy. I've tried a handful of well reviewed restaurants, and so far this one is by FAR the best. The menu was solid, it offered a handful of Italian staples as well as a couple of dishes you won't find at other restaurants. The food was incredible, and the the service was ok. The server was busy, and you can tell he was trying, but some of our requests went unfilled, and others were brought out so late it made it a moot point. The service was still "acceptable" overall and I would highly recommend this place!

This restaurant has an old Sicilian feel to it. From the employees to the decor it's ambiance is truly perfect. Very cozy and a spot for a very nice dinner or date night. Being new to this place we did like we normally do and tried a few appetizers. We got the INCREDIBLE meatballs which had a chef's spice to perfect the flavors. The mussels were amazing and didn't have the usual heavy broth. Both were EXCELLENT!!!! I ordered the lasagna and it was heavy with meat sauce not ricotta to my pleasant surprise. Our second meal was the Penne Alla Emiliana which had very good sausage. This is a MUST on places you have to try. NOM NOM NOM!!!! Special thanks to Kennedy.
