Joella's Hot Chicken - Indianapolis

Stopped here for dinner and got the classic chicken sandwich. Flavor was decent but a little greasy. I got one of the hotter sauces and should probably have gotten ranch as well because it overpowered the sandwich a bit. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and tasty so would recommend that but I probably would try a different entree than the sandwich next time. Service was fast and friendly.

Have been here twice now, both times for lunch and dined in. First time had the classic chicken sandwich, it was very good. The second time I had the pimento cheese Sammie and it was also very good. However, The second sandwich was the same heat level as the first but it was much more greasy/oily but still very good. The sweet tea is divine!!

WOW!! This is some amazing, tender, juicy chicken, hot off the fryer!! 🐣🪓🩸➡️🍗🍗 Takes me back to the good old days in Texas. I especially recommend Ella's Fav on your chicken breading; it is pure orange goodness. The chicken is served on top of a slice of bread, and the orange goodness soaks into the bread; like Yats but better! The kale crunch salad is also delicious, with blueberries included for sweet contrast. 🫐 Shout out to Brie, Emily, and Ashton for being awesome! A true example of southern hospitality! 🙏

Chicken tenders and fries. Very good chicken, one of the best in Indy. Always quality food! Got it door dashed was stuck at work and really wanted something comforting. Was still hot and was just like I got it at the restaurant. Fries are really good as well. Need to get the chicken and waffles next time! Check it out if your haven’t

Decided to try off the hottest chicken they have “fire in the hole.” I had to sign a waiver. The chicken tasted okay and the spiciness was pretty hot for me and I enjoyed it. I am a little disappointed on the jojo sauce, tasted good but not wow. Would need to try other sauces. The waffle was also enjoyable.

Joella’s is a great stop for wonderful chicken with a southern feel. From chicken & waffles to the largest chicken tenders this place does not lack for big portion sizes. Well worth a stop and the Sammies are huge. Recommend getting the honey to dip your sandwich in. Good and good for you. The southern way!
