Joella's Hot Chicken - Broad Ripple

This chicken was legit. Not processed to hell and back like the others. Always a plus for offering beer, too. The lack of silly decor is appreciated. This spot used to be an Applebee's which, while notorious for its mediocrity, was better remembered by its rustic cob web style ceilings. Joella's is... is the option on the tip of your tongue seeking its rightful place in your tummy. I didn't have a chance to try the dessert, but next time we will for sure. I ordered the big chicken sandwich with slaw and was very, very happy with it. I will def go spicier next time, but the regular was delicious. I usually critique hard. I'm hard to please. But dang. Why did it take me so long to check this place out? I'm still kicking myself about it. My little one got 2 sliders; it's the perfect size for kids. Green beans were great, but macaroni not so much.

Fantastic food, we were greeted by a very nice employee who explained the menu throughly for our first time being there. She helped us get us exactly what we wanted and went for the middle of the board spice level. We got the lunch special with two tenders, fries and drink for 12.99. Tasted great, especially my wife’s parmesan fries. My only qualm if anything is at the end of my meal I felt as though I had consumed a lot of salt. Gonna keep this place in the back of my mind!

I stopped in for a quick bite before a work related meeting. I was shocked!! They had vegan chicken. I was able to get chicken and waffles with vegan chicken. It was amazizizizing. I got the slightly hot syrup sauce.... it was perfect. It tasted amazing! Highly recommended. There is cornhole set up for entertainment and an outdoor dining area overlooking the river. Clean establishment, great service.
