Steak 'n Shake

First visit was great! Second one, the frisco melt was wrapped in a paper hat the employees (are supposed to) wear. I reached into the bag to exposed grilled sandwich wrapped in what I had hoped was an unused hat. The manager apologized when brought to his attention and replaced the sandwich stating they hadn’t received their paper shipment as the reason. I thanked him and filled out the survey on the receipt favorably since it was made right. Doing so gave me a coupon for a free sandwich I hadn’t tried. Then today, I visit to redeem my coupon, but was told at the drive-through microphone “we don’t do survey coupons”. I replied “I’m looking at one, this is Steak ‘n Shake, right? He said to pull around, so I did and to my surprise, it was the same manager that fixed things before. He took the coupon, quickly gave it back and said “it’s expired”. it was two days expired, and I asked “aren’t you the manager? He replied with arrogance “I’m the OWNER!” I wish I could retake the survey now. Save your time and eat at the many other places in North Irving. Avoid these franchise owned wastes of time. Or at least visit a CORPORATE OWNED Steak ‘n Shake. These with “owners” can be awful.

I came all the way from Oklahoma to get food. Order a garlic burger with jalapeño and added lettuce. Tell me why the lettuce was brown. Also the burger was so sloppy and greasy. It was horrible. I immediately went back and got my money. An hour drive for a greasy bag of garbage. I recommend you check your bag before driving off

Horrible experience on July 1st. I placed an order for curbside through the app and waited while no car hop came out to me and I did not receive a phone call. I finally called the restaurant and they employee rudely told me to come through drive-through but I told him I asked for curbside for a reason. He again told me to go through the drive-through and hung up. Once I got to the drive-through I had to repeat the situation again even though it was the same man I had just talked to. I spent more time waiting in the drive-through and when he finally gave me my food he essentially threw it in my face and did not make it fresh even though my food had been sitting there for an hour and shut the window in my face. I am now stuck with cold food that I can't eat and a completely melted milkshake after working a 13 hour shift without a meal and waiting in line for over an hour.

No person to take your order. Automated teller that isn’t very friendly. My shake wasn’t full and the person who brought it gave me a go to hell look when I tried to ask about it. You have to list wash condiment and hope to get it right. They didn’t get my or my wife’s order right. Add what ever spin you want but Steak and Shake is putting people out of work and their automation has the audacity to ask if you want to leave it a tip. BTW, because you have to repeatedly touch the screen to generate your order, it is a source of disease that can’t be rivaled. A COVID SPREADING MONSTER. Sorry for the rant but they deserve to go belly up. This is my last visit.
