Johnny T's Bistro & Bar

There are two areas to this restaurant-we ate in the bar area and did not go upstairs. Therefore, I have no idea what the upstairs looks like or if the menu is the same. We got there at about 5:15 on a Friday night and had no trouble getting a table. There were two people behind the bar and one of them came to our table within 5 minutes with drink and food menus. He was back within a few minutes to take our drink order as well as our food order. The food probably took about 20 minutes but it may have been longer as I was really enjoying my amaretto sour 😉. I had the catfish and grits - a fried catfish filet over cheddar grits with a crawfish sauce. I’ve had shrimp and grits before and it’s one of my favorites, so this combination intrigued me. To say the least, I was not disappointed. Excellent dish!! My husband ordered the crab cakes - no filler lump crab cake with lemon butter sauce, served over petite mix green salad. I would have to say that this is the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. When they say no filler, that’s exactly what they mean. Delicious!! We had fudge cake for dessert and it was a three layer dark chocolate cake with a thick fudge icing. We ordered small plates and it was still generous portions. If you’re in Jackson, MS, just go: don’t wait!!

I love this place if I could give it a 100 stars I really would. I have been here a few times & this place haven't let me down yet. It has an wonderful mixture of music & the daiquiri are 🔥 the food is a little expensive but I promise you it is delicious. The owner is very understanding so if you have a complaint on anything he wouldn't mind trying 2 fix things for you.

Excellent food for the price - a wide variety on the menu. The staff was very friendly even though it took awhile to get our drinks (waiters have to mix drinks for their tables). They seem to be a tad understaffed but made up for it with strong drinks, delicious food, and good vibes. I would recommend anything with with their lobster cream sauce.

Been here twice now when I brought the kids back for school. Food is excellent! I would have to agree with the many comments on the service. If you're in a rush or anxious and don't have to chill and just lay back for a little while, you might not enjoy the experience as much. Overall I would still recommend it highly!!

Well first we decided to eat here after a comedy show. This experience is questionable because we got there and no information on the options to go upstairs or stay on the lower level. By it being our first time visiting when there was no event goin on and the customer service was NOT good when we got upstairs and they added gratuity to our check. We had to stand at the bar and wait to place our order. We wanted to just enjoy some good music and eat but upstairs was not for us. The food was on point.
