Outback Steakhouse

Outback can be a little hard to get to right now because of road construction on the I-94 interchange, but if you are looking for a good Outback meal, don't let that keep you away. Our pork chops and filet were done as we asked. Our server was friendly and attentive. We came at 2:00 pm on a Sunday and we were seated immediately.

The Blooming Onion is always a must! They do appear a little smaller than normal though, but it's a sign of the times. The place was pretty empty and we got our appetizer ordered into our seats in no time. The entry came out timely and everybody left satisfied. The wait staff was very accommodating offering us additional bread and sauces as needed. They even have a $7 drink special going on all the time now.

Just not the place it used to be, even before the pandemic. Terrible food! Terrible service! Plus, it was absolutely frigid inside. The picture on top is from the menu. The one on the bottom is what was served. It's their bloomin' onion fried chicken. Batter was burned. Chicken was jerky. And just a little dribble of the sauce. You know, the bloomin' onion sauce that is supposed to make it a bloomin' onion fried chicken. Worst chef in Jackson!

This was the first time at this Outback location, and it will be our last. There were six of us. Service was very slow, we were there two hours. They weren't busy and it was 2:30pm when we arrived. The soup was good, and that was about it. My steak was ordered medium-well and was overcooked (no pink, whatsoever), dry, and burned. My mom ordered hers medium, but it was medium-rare, and her baked potato looked like it had been baked the day before and reheated in the microwave. Four people at our table said the french fries had far too much seasoning, as did the chicken tenders, and grilled chicken. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich that came with fries, and soup could be added on for $3, according to the menu. He got his soup, and was surprised when the sandwich came without fries. When the server was told he didn't get his fries, the server said, "You ordered soup instead of fries." No, fries automatically come with it, the soup was extra. So I asked how long until he could get fries and we were told 3 minutes. They never came, and were never given an explanation. We always get a cookie skillet for dessert. We had three at our table and we all agreed they weren't good. First, they weren't served in the skillet, but in a regular bowl. When asked, we were told they were all dirty. The skillet is what makes that dessert delicious- the cookie comes hot, moist, and chewy. These cookies were cold and rock hard, as if they were stale. The server took them back to get new ones and we were told the manager was making them fresh. They were hardly any better. We didn't say anything, because we were tired of complaining. We are assuming they were short staffed, yet no one said they were. We will continue going to the Ann Arbor location, where, even when short staffed ( apologetically told so) the service and food are fantastic.The server never came to our table to say anything, such as, " I'm sorry, your soups and salads aren't ready yet, even though you ordered them 25 minutes ago, we are really short staffed." Instead we had to call him over to ask him when we could expect them. It's truly disappointing to spend over $100 for four people, and the food is awful, and the service is slow.

We arrived during the dinner rush but based on our service, you couldn't tell. Our waitress Jennifer S. was phenomenal. She was very attentive and always checking on us. The food was great. We brought in our kiddo and she was so playful with him, it's just so hard to find a restaurant that is so kid friendly. She even brought him extra crayons. We will definitely be returning and will always request her.

Well , normally they are busy and you have to wait to be seated , but today we (me and my lady )waited for the hostess just to greet us after we and another couple arrived at the restaurant , I'd say we waited for a 5-6 minutes before anyone acknowledged us , even though a couple waitresses and the bartender saw use wait by the podium were the hostess should have been when we arrived I even tried calling them while I was standing there. We did finally get seated and had a pretty good meal ,

Loved seeing Outback in Jackson staffed with friendly and efficient servers! We were lucky enough to have a trainee too. Thank you Mitchell for excellent service and we are positive we will be back for another great meal! We also had a to-go order that was timed perfectly and appreciate your kindness!
