Thig's Bbq House

Tonight my wife and I simply didn't feel like cooking. Since both of us had eaten at Thig's before this restaurant before its renovation due to a fire, and it was close to home we decided to eat there. We both had to get boxes due to the amount of food on our trays was alot more than we ate. I had flounder which was great. My wife had chicken nuggets which were very good. Odds are good we will probably eat there again. It was a worthwhile visit without any detrimental remarks necessary.

I had delicious fish. It was fried lightly with just the right amount of seasoning. I got 3 large pieces and could not finish the third piece! The slaw, French fries, and tea hit the spot. I did not have any after-taste (grease) from the fish. I recommend Thigs for good food and service. Their new establishment is beautiful!

Great food, super clean restaurant, friendly staff. Got my lunch order quickly. My only issue is that I have a shellfish allergy (I won't die, but my digestive tract will make me wish I had). The fries are cooked in the same oil as the shrimp, which is enough to do me in. Just something to be aware of if you have similar problems, and not totally unexpected when dining near the coast. My server was quick to point out other sides that I could have that would be safe. I wound up getting a double order of Mac-n-cheese which was delicious, as were the ribs. The bbq sauce was some of the best I've ever had and had a unique flavor I could not quite identify. It was vinegar based with a sweet flavor, just a touch of a heat and some other indescribable quality (some may say it's love, but I prefer to believe it to be the taste of pure envy of every pitmaster in a 30 mile radius). I was not able to try the hush puppies due to the shellfish problem, but they looked delicious.

They had lumpia and smoked brisket on special. We got both and we’re very pleased! They’re sweet chili sauce was so delicious. My kids devoured the catfish, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Make sure you get the sweet potato casserole side, if they have it. It is the perfect dessert! The coleslaw is sweet and chopped thin, just like I love it! Also loved that they brought hush puppies out right away after we sat down. We will be back.

Great food!!! Great atmosphere and excellent service!!! Meagan is the most friendly waitress I have ever encountered!! The manager saw me down the road and invited a coworker and I to come by and give them a try. I have to honestly say this place is the epitome of perfection on a plate with a lovely small town feel yo top it all off! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We saw one of the cooks coming out of the back and even he was in a great mood and talked with us like we were all old friends. Ill definitely be back very soon!

If you want true North Carolina BBQ you have to stop at Thig's. They have been doing bbq right for over 30 years. They have amazing burgers fries and sides on top of their delicious bbq. Try an appetizer and try to save room for dessert. The service was amazing and they try to make sure everything about your visit is perfect.
