Smokey's Bar-b-que

Stopped by here today after seeing a negative review on Smokey's bbq that didn't sound like it added up to me. My family and I have ordered their shrimp specials on multiple occasions and always been happy. Never had a complaint. I hadn't had the BBQ though so decided to see for myself. Long story short, the food was delicious. Stopped in to grab a solo meal but was happy enough with it I ended up grabbing my folks a couple of plates. Theresa was my waitress & was as sweet as she could be. Attentive and professional. If you've had an unfortunate experience here, I'd say give em one more shot. Personally, I couldn't find a single thing to complain about. Friendly staff and the food was great. Will definitely do it again👍 (Side note: after clicking the lady's name who left the ridiculous review I wasn't at all surprised that out of 18 reviews left over the past 2 years to all types of businesses - she was clearly one of those clients that couldn't be pleased regardless of what she was buying. In 2 years and nearly 20 reviews, all but 3 of them were negative in nature. At some point, some folks need to realize it isn't every place they do business who is at fault. Somewhere along the line it's time to glance in the mirror.)

Melody is always wonderful. We try to go in when she is there and we request her service. The food is outstanding, best mushrooms in Jacksonville that we have tried ( fried mushrooms make or break the experience at any restaurant for us), even brought the family, whom are longtime fans of Sonny's and they loved it too! Will always always come back!

We arrived about 45 mins before closing and didn’t know what we wanted so we had plenty of questions for our waitress Katy. She stood there with so much knowledge and excited while helping me and my husband figure out what we wanted. She recommended things and we took them and was not disappointed. The food came out fast and it was by far the BEST bbq we had at a restaurant. They special sause and homemade ranch really was good. The prices are amazing and the food portion is oddly weird but the taste is so worth it. I would say that the fries could have been a little different. But overall the food was GREAT. And we just love our Waitress. If my memory is right her name was Kathy but if it’s not, she was the one who was married to her husband for 21 years and we pray they make it to they 50 year mark together. They was very sweet and friendly and loving!

We visited Smokeys as part of a large group. Even though there were about 10 of us, the service was great. The food was outstanding. It's a small menu, but that way you know anything you get, the chefs are going to make perfectly. The shrimp was phenomenal and the beans and franks are one of my new favorite dishes! I definitely recommend this place.

Love this place! Been coming for years. It’s a hidden gem in Murray Hill. The facility is always clean and has that small town vibe. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Today Nita greeted us and got our drinks. Katy took our order and the food came out fast, fresh and hot! We got the pork sandwich Tuesday special and loved it! They make their own sauces. Freshly brewed sweet tea! We also love their fried shrimp special. They give you 30 fried shrimp and 2 sides for $10.99!!!!! It’s delicious! In and out in 45 mins which is great when eating lunch during the week so we can get back to work! Highly recommend stopping in.

Smokey’s knows how to BBQ ribs. Oh, my! When you can pull all the meat off the bone with just your fingers or a fork and almost no effort, when there’s plenty of meat on every rib, and it’s all juicy and delicious, not stringy and dry, you know you’ve found a place that knows what they’re doing. Best ribs I’ve had in ages! The “mustard” BBQ sauce was more like vinegar and pepper, definitely not edible to me, but everyone has different tastes for sauces. Besides, their other sauce was really tasty. So, if you haven’t been here, sample the different sauces they have to find one that fits your liking. But whatever you do, get some of their ribs! Pulled pork was really good, too. @Sonnys - you need to come here and learn how to do ribs right! Smokey’s is smokin’ y’all in the ribs department.

My first experience with Smokey's. I called in an order. Took me around fifteen minutes or so to get there. It was ready when I arrived. The food was delicious and they have proven that it is indeed possible to get hot and crispy (and delicious) fries with takeout. The fried mushrooms were done to perfection. Great baked beans and a generous portion of some great pulled pork. The staff is also very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I will absolutely be back.
