Pappa's Subs & Salads

Went to the Papa’s Italian grill restaurant last night for my birthday get together. There were seven of us. Every single person had an exceptional meal!! . Me, the birthday girl ordered a steak with lemon and rosemary on it, I think it was called Mama’s favorite. All I can say is WOW!! It was amazing!! All of my friends ordered different meals, and were raving about their entrées. The chef came out and made sure we enjoyed our meal. We had exceptional service, and an amazing dessert.. a chocolate custard, that was decadent. SO GOOD!!! Will be back again and again. After all the chef cooked for the White House!! 😀

Where do I start? The wait staff is friendly, goes above and beyond to help you. The food is so Amazing. I had Spaghetti, and it is perfection! They have an Awesome Salad bar, in which I am in love with it. The atmosphere is very cozy and romantic. The owner is very sweet and makes sure you are taken care of! Overall, this restaurant is a jewel. I will be frequently visiting there. A must if you enjoy Italian food.

Definitely worth going!! My family got the large veggie pizza and the sauce is unlike anything I have ever tasted! It was fresh and homemade by the owner who is such a nice a person who makes you feel very welcomed. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. We don’t live here so next time we come back we will absolutely come back

What a great dining experience! I had the cauliflower crust veggie pizza and it was excellent. I love the fact that it is a white pizza base, no tomato sauce, which really makes a difference. My hubbie had the chicken ceaser salad with the homemade dressing and he loved it, which is saying a lot since he's a very picky eater. All the dishes are prepared fresh and delicately seasoned. I am so tired of over salted and over spiced food. Additionally, the Italian bread is homemade and freshly baked and is accompanied with a very tasty, freshly seasoned olive oil. We will be back.

I have a warehouse nearby and this place by far the best lunch I can have in the area. I grew up in NY in a small Italian village on LI so I know good Pizza and theirs is very good and the fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic is so good. The ambiance and lighting is dead on. It's all relevant for a real Italian meal. They have a lunch special of a 10 inch pizza, salad bar and your choice of any soft drink, beer or wine for $10.00 Who offers anything like that! and the Cab that I have is a very nice medium bodied Red just perfect with the pizza. If you are from up north and fold your pizza like me, you can ask them to cut it into four slices. I will never do the knife and fork for pizza. Now the pizza is not the same as we have in NY but very close, and I would say that is because the NY water is what makes NY pizza and bagels superior to anyplace. Its the sediment in the treated water that causes the dough to rise as it does and gives it a flavor like no other. So for Jacksonville, its Papa's for me. As Joe Pesci would say, they have your pizza right here!

This is a nice little hidden gem in the southside area. Stumbled upon it as i was intending to visit Benitos and this place had taken over. Decided to give it a shot. Family owned atmosphere and good service. I may have caught them in opening mode because they do pizza but i never saw a pizza menu. Entrees get access to the salad bar which is small but of high quality. Have ordered a sandwich and two pizzas over a handful of visits and everything was very good. Give these guys a shot, they deserve it.

We had a fantastic and unexpected experience at Papa's. Loved that it's family owned and staffed, from Server to Chefs. Service & food were outstanding. Salad bar is stocked with not only the usual items, but also all yummy organic and house prepared Italian specialties (relishes). We had a pizza that was the best we had in many, many years. We can't wait to come back to have dinner and won't buy pizza anywhere else again. Thanks Terri and her staff for bringing a taste of Tuscany to Jax.

This place is a rare gem. Locally owned. Amazing food. It's not well advertised, but the owner believes in whole food, quality ingredients. Flour imported from Italy, grass fed meats, everything made from scratch. Bread baked every morning. Some of my favorites are the salad dressings -- they are all house made and AMAZING, the dipping oil for the bread (perfect blend of spices and roasted garlic, mmmm), and the desserts. Owners are friendly and very accommodating. We have gluten and dairy issues in our family and they go above and beyond to feed us well! Highly recommend!!

We stopped in for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. They have $3 sangria Saturdays and a big wine list. The salad bar comes with most entrees and the dressings are made in the kitchen. They have gluten free penne pasta that was good but the marinara sauce was somewhat runny. My husband loved his chicken marsala.
