Jalapeno Tree Mexican Restaurant

Wife and I were visiting my mom in Jacksonville TX. And stopped in to try it out. Wasn't crowded as it was a little early for dinner. We were seated promptly and chips and salsa and drink order were taken. We had chicken enchiladas and they were very very good and reasonably priced. They have a side section with a sit at it bar and booths as well. Well worth the money.

Service was acceptable. The workers were extremely loud on the other side of the wall from where we were sitting. The dining room floor was very dirty. There was food all over the floor. One side of our booth was dirty. There was food in the seats. They were a little too busy for our taste. It's good for the business, but if you're concerned about COVID protocols or safely serving, this is not the place to be.

We are here 05/28/2022! We were seated right away! We waited 15 minutes before our drink order was taken and after asking a couple of times and another 10 minutes we finally got our chips and dip! We got the chips and dip about 5 minutes before our food. We understand they are under staffed but, there is no excuse for our food coming out cold and inedible! My granddaughter and I both got cold food! Our other granddaughter and grandson couldn't eat their food because it had a bad taste. So I guess it's ok that the ranch she asked for never came! The reason they got 2 stars is because the manager did take some of the food off and attempt to make it right. I was not going to leave a review but, she made mention that that the chips and dip would be on them which I believe is customary anyway. Being under staffed is no excuse for cold food. Having to wait for drinks or chips and dip I can understand that but not cold food. Hopefully they are able to fix these issues.
