Nanking

Nice deco. We were there for lunch and ordered the Thai lamb curry, chicken vindaloo, spicy fried lamb, chilli chicken, pad Thai, and nanking noodle. Please avoid the Thai lamb curry, the nanking noodle, and pad Thai. These dishes were not so good, i had better Pad Thai and Thai lamb curry in smaller and weird looking places.

Horrible food. I have enjoyed good food here.. Now from last few months it's oily, under cooked. Frozen chicken not even properly thawed, so much oil and soya sauce. No balance of spices. I ordered today two noodles, two types of chicken - dry and gravy. Even rice was not chewable. Noodles was cooked nicely but lot of oil. Somehow we finished food. Last time when I ordered, it was only oil flavour. Management should take some action here and not let a good restaurant lose all good ratings and customers.

Good menu with a wide selection of Thai, Chinese, and Indian dishes though the atmosphere and service leave something to be desired. The interior has an interesting feel, but is in need of some updating with peeling paint and burned out lights. The service is clearly not interested, particularly during the weekday lunch rush. The food is pretty good, better than a typical Chinese restaurant, and prices, particularly the lunch menu are very affordable. Good food for lunch, but not a destination unto itself.

This place used to be one of the very good places to eat in Jersey City, but lately their quality and service are degraded. I had an incident once where there was a hair in my food and when I reported they very graciously gave me a discount of $5. Once they just forgot to server soup/salad. The food also does not taste as great as it used to or at other Nanking restaurant. I used to go there every month, but now it may be only once in a year when there are no other options.

Really lovely venue from the bar to their lighting and high ceilings but a little too expensive for still standard Chinese food. Red wine list is not diverse enough for multiple palates. Service is good. Appetizer was too small and sesame chicken entree hardly had any sesame seeds in it so had to request for more separately after the fact. Also, 86 of cocktails and desserts after you order them.

I have gone their for dinner. The location of the restaurant is very convenient to the light rail. As soon as you enter the ambience is very nice. Bulky chair, tight space, but comfy! The menu options are endless! Their are many great dishes in the menu that should be tried for next visits. The waiters are not so good with their jobs. Took the drink order and appetizer order and disappeared for the whole entire time. Did not check up on us or take our entree orders. Waited along time to give in the entree order. When we got our entree again, no one checked up on us. When we were done, it was like a ghost town. No one to clear out the table or ask for the check. The hostess sitting at the bar chit-chatting instead of getting our waiter. The professionalism is out the door. Minus the terrible service. THE CHEF is AMAZING! The lollipop chicken we ordered for appetizer was so delicious and flavorful! Absolutely mouthwatering! Chicken vindaloo with shrimp fried rice was very tasteful as well! The spice level was just right!
