They have this house special cocktail, tastes like Hawaiian Punch, so delicious but it definitely sneaks up on you! Great atmosphere; love their Cinnamon Toast Crunch chicken tenders and their Drunk-ER fries are the bomb! Can't wait to see what 2016 brings for this bar! Definitely coming back again!

Great place! Fun to go to for any occasion! The citizen has it all, from local music, which highlights some of Nj's best bands, to burlesque and comedy shows. Food is amazing! The owners are the nicest, the staff and servers are extremely tentative! Quickly has become my new weekend spot!

We played here last month and had an awesome time. The bar is awesome and it's pretty cheap compared to the rest of the neighborhood. I was impressed with how many people came out to support local music. I'd say the timing of this place was just perfect. Love it !

The vibe & ambiance of the place is great. The food is pretty awesome & unique. It's a different type of place compared to the others in the area. Ive seen so many cool bands so far and other different type of shows and it's always such a fun time. Really excited to see what else is gonna go on there in the future.

I really, really, really, really wish I could give this place more stars buuuuuut I just can't force myself to do it. Nope.
Here's why:
* bad food, like less than mediocre.
* ambiance is just strange. Like think True Blood Fangtasia meets Williamsburg boutique. I'm not gonna lie-- I was a little scared.
* service is a little in a disarray. Like what's your protocol when a customer sends something back? um.....
* did I mention bad food? I was given burnt rice.... I'm Puerto Rican, all I do is eat rice so I know burnt rice. Not something I'd like to pay for.
The music is cool. The people are friendly. And the fact that it's BYOB with a liquor store around the corner is pure awesome--- but I like to eat and I don't think I'll ever come near their food again.... liker ever.
Please improve your food & then maybe I could return... otherwise, I'm goooooood.

This place is excellent. Awesome Jersey City music venue with cheap drinks and fantastic food! Been coming here for weeks now and making this place my go to bar from now on.

The food here is awesome! We had the fries, Citizen Burger and wings. All were great. Highly recommend the Sweet Sambal sauce. Delish!

I really enjoyed myself, the food was good, and the atmosphere was awesome the open mic is really good. Wish I had the guts to get up on stage.
