Crystal Palace Chinese Restaurant

Takeaway lunch from here was a pleasant experience. The welcome and customer service was outstanding in my short time in their establishment. We ordered Special Fried Rice, King Prawns, Satay Beef and Chicken Chow Mein. Each of the dished were great and made as we requested. I would rate the general quality and taste of the dishes about 8 out of 10. The only reasons it was not a 10 was that we asked for extra thick Satay sauce and it was a bit thin and slightly down on flavour. The Special Fried Rice was a touch low on prawns and meats, and the just a general slight blandness to the dishes compared to our usual Chinese meals. I would still recommend Crystal Palace for lunch as it is a very clean, tidy and well laid out restaurant. Service is great and their prices are more reasonable than usual prices. Their lunch specials are at a bargain price for the dishes offered. In general a positive experience with some good food. As I said 8/10.

We celebrated Chinese New Year at Crystal Palace Restaurant in Joondalup. There's an authentic Chinese look to the venue which drew us in. The dining room decor is unpretentious with typical Chinese style. Our waitstaff was friendly, polite and helpful. We ordered entrees of Spring Rolls, Sang Choy Bow, Garlic King Prawns, Prawn Toast and Prawn Crackers. For the main meal we chose Honey Chicken, BBQ Pork with sprouts, Special Fried Rice, Salt and Pepper Squid, Prawn Chow Mein, Sizzling Beef with Black Bean sauce, Duck with Plum sauce. Our vege choice was vegetarian Fried Rice and Chinese Mushroom with seasonal vegetables. The food was lovely without being exceptional, a lovely evening in a quiet restaurant with good friends.

We went out for dinner and we wanted to try a new place in a monday night when no many places are opened in Joondalup. We went in Crystal Palace and sit at a table but it was freezing cold, no heating. The service was good. The waiter ask us if we need drinks and she took our order. We haven't wait long for the food but it wasn't great. The fried rice was too wet, more like a rissotto that a fried rice. The sizzling garlic chicken and the beef in black bean sauce where both very salty and with fishy taste. To much soy sauce and fish sauce in the food, like made by a beginner. I will maybe give the place another try in summer time but i know for sure that i will not rush back.

We've ordered home delivery from Crystal Palace twice now, and have been more than happy. The food is fresh and delicious - lots of meat in the dishes; a refreshing change from other restaurants that give you 3-4 paltry pieces of meat/seafood a dish. The order always comes with their delicious free potato cakes and prawn chips as well - yummy!. Will definitely be ordering again.
