Trios Mexican Grill

We used to go to this restaurant all the time a few years ago when it was Vida Loca, and we really loved it, especially the great patio. Then, it started changing hands so frequently, we just stopped going, figuring it must not be any good. Nevertheless, we decided to give it another try, and I am so glad we did. We've been twice in the past month, and I've had quesadillas both times. I think they are THE best of all the restaurants in Katy, and my husband has been pleased with his meals too. The service is not up to snuff yet, but the waiters and waitresses are friendly. Great drink menu, great red and green salsa, and a patio that rivals El Jarrito's. If you are hesitant, I encourage you to give it a try.

My husband and I are new to this part of town and we have been looking for a good Mexican food place. We did some research online and read lots of terrible reviews about this place, but there was a Groupon deal so we decided to test it anyway. Maybe they have stepped up their game or maybe we got lucky, either way we will be going back. The hostess was peppy and polite when we walked in and our server came to our table almost immediately. Our chips and salsa were brought out to us as we were ordering our drinks which also came back from the bar really quickly. The red sauce had a nice little kick to it which was nice because some places are so bland. We both had margaritas and we really liked them. After looking over the menu I ordered the Trios Tacos and my husband ordered a burrito. Our food came out quickly and it was nice and hot. My tacos were AMAZING! I was glad that it was so much food so I could take the rest of it to lunch today. The tortillas are home made which is a really nice touch. My husband also enjoyed his burrito and has left overs for today. I would recommend that people give this place a shot and not just go off of the poor reviews.We loved it!!!
