We had a lovely evening having dinner with friends. We started with the spinach dip. Everyone loved it. For dinner I had the crab cakes (yum), my husband had the 10oz filet, my friend had the grouper and her boyfriend had the prime rib. Everyone loved the food. We ended with the chocolate cake and carrot cake. The carrot cake was served warm and we all thought it was great. The chocolate cake had more of a sweet flavor than a dark chocolate flavor. That was a little disappointing but we had a great time anyway. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The food presentation was very nice. I would definitely go back. It's pricey but it's not like we eat like this all the time so for special occasions or just a nice evening with friends it was nice.

Good food, portions are not the best on some items. Very similar to a Dawson's or Houston's. Service was decent. Drinks took forever after checking with the server multiple times. Table bread never made it to the table. Would have ordered more drinks too. Pricing was not too bad. Will go again and update my review.

Continues to impress with service and always consistent steak. Many stake houses and restaurants rest their claim on just the food and sacrifice everything else. J.Alexander’s always has a consistently well cooked steak and absolutely pleasant staff. You can’t complain on the wine or cocktail selection either. Make room for the seasonal apps and heated desserts!

First of all very nice place to take a date. The atmosphere is upscale with an elegant decor and decent music. We started our meal with cheesesteak rolls. I found them to be very decadent with nice flavor. However the wife found some grisle in her part and felt they were a bit greasy but other than that we enjoyed them. For my entree I order the steak burger which was cooked perfectly to order. It came on a nice soft bun the held up to the juicy burger. Made a delicious bite but nothing really stood out I'm my open. The wife's entree was the coastal shrimp which was an abundant mound of bite size shrimp cook perfectly. Accompanied by a sweet honey mustard a cocktail sauce made for a delicious meal. Food was good but at the end of the day it was high scale pub food that might have been a bit over priced in our opinion but a decent showing for restaurant week may return to see if their normal menu as anything better to offer.

Wanted to share what an extraordinary time my wife and friends had at J. Alexander’s on Friday May 20. We were there to celebrate a monumental moment and this was a great place to go. Our Waiter Mike was very helpful with explaining the menu items He was fantastic. The other pleasurable moments was when General Manager Taylor Edmund made sure we didn’t leave without tasting the deserts. Wow! They were amazing, I’m still reeling from the warm carrot cake. Just a wonderful evening and we look forward to our next event here. Thanks for everything.
