Steak 'n Shake

We had the pleasure of choosing this establishment today and oh my gosh was I ASTOUNDED. As a former long-time employee who has since lost faith in the brand I was shocked when we got home, and unwrapped some of the most meticulously packaged food I dare say I have EVER received from a drive-thru. Not only that, but our order was over $40 and quite literally picture perfect. And this… In KOKOMO? I’m baffled. Second shift on a Sunday night is the way to go. Breeze through for an easy dinner and remember to-TIP YOUR SERVICE WORKERS!

My husband went and got us food from here the other night. The girl working ran our debit card and told my husband there was a zero $ balance on it (which they can't see) and said that he didn't pay. Then why is there a $10 charge on my card for Steak N Shake, if it my card was "empty". He already had the food in the car and they let him take (good thing since I paid for it). Got home, not a far drive, and food was ice cold and my sandwich was messed up. Called and told them and said I'd pick up my replacement the next day, which I did and my sandwich was messed up and ice cold again, like they served old food that had sat out. The fries tasted really off and weird as well. I won't waste my money here again.

The person at the window was acting peculiar she was holding my card while she was moving around the area by the drive thru window, and I had to reach out knock on the drive thru window to tell her to give me my card. I was then told that everything was running slow (I assume she meant the thing that they scan the cards on) and then she ran the card for the 1st time and boom 4-5 seconds it went through fine and she then gave me my card the whole experience had an odd vibe!

WOW! what has happened to this place. I placed a call in order, got to the drive through and waited 2 min for a hello, anything, no welcome so I drove to the window and no response. I called and was told the speakers weren't working, but the guy took an order while I was waiting, not cool. On top of that, a couple of workers pass by going to the back room and no acknowledgement. The last on the phone wanted to take my order and I told her I used the app. "Oh," she said, "it's almost ready." I asked if it's on the grill still could they toast the bread a little more, she said sure. Fifteen meinutes later, I get my food and that's another story. I took a picture of the time I had waited after placing the phone call until someone opened the window and I asked if was being helped. PITIFUL STEAK AND SHAKE... REED ROAD (hwy 31). So sad, won't be back for sometime.
