Chanda's Khaukswey

Very clean establishment with a modern look and good take on Burmese Khaukswey. The pork ribs were soft and sauce was tasty and tangy. Although a bit more meat in the bite world have been better Chanda's Signature Dish of Khaukswey was well seasoned and on adding the condiments was a well finished dish. Best dish was the dry Khaukswey where the wok brings out all the flavour of Burma. Finished with a traditional Burmese Falooda which was a meal in itself, filled with bread cubes and rice cake and lovely rose water. The Red Rice dessert was a little let down by the rice not being fully cooked and glutinous as expected of dessert. Overall, very flavoursome and a great taste journey is to be had into Myanmar.

Superb food. A very minimalistic and cozy atmosphere. A truly striking and well curated menu. And a very involved and dedicated owner. All of these come together to make Chanda's Khauwswey a gastronomic delight. Please don't go here looking for you regular fix of tandoori and spicy Indian dishes. The menu is totally Burmese and very selective. And it is brilliant in short.

They say it's cuisine of Myanmar. Chanda Khauwswey wife of Anjan Dutta had her previous three generations rooted in Burma. There are not many places which serve you Burmese food that too with warm welcome so, thumbs up for the unique concept. First timer must seek help before ordering because you may end up ordering something which does not strike your taste buds right. Besides regular crisp menu, on a black-board they mention special dish of the day.The place has nice decoration and ambiance but there is not much room to enjoy with a large group and it is so small that the waiter and the next table can not avoid overhearing your group chat.
