Their nolen gur er products available mostly during winter will not disappoint. Rest, sweets are fresh, also you'll get radhavallavi & aloo dum during morning. Singara & khastas are good too.

VIP sweets is a chain of sweet shops in Kolkata and it's suburbs. This particular outlet is located next to FD Park and 'Poura Bhavan' in Salt Lake Bidhannagar
The benefit of this particular outlet is in the high churn rate of its products owning to a regular customer base. This ensures that the sweets are mostly, usually always fresh.
Apart from sweets, the savories available are 'samosas' and 'nimki'. Except for a few products which are prepared using 'ghee', most of the other products are prepared using hydrogenated vegetable fat.
In order to make an informed choice you can ask the sales personnel at the counter and be rest assured that you will receive genuine advice. Gift packaging is available.
However, being a corner sweet shop in a residential block, don't expect anything fancy in the way of ambience or choice.

Their Bengali sweets are very decent, especially their 'gur' sweets in the winter months. Their 'rashamalai', 'dudhpuli', 'kaanchagolla' and 'rashatripti' are excellent. These are available between 11.30AM and 1.30-2PM.
