Hing Kochuris at Maharaj Opposite Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani fame Monalisa Guest House in Kolkata, this little timeworn shop bustle with notes of vessels and foodies from the wee hours of the morning. Maharaj has been major crowd-puller near South Kolkata’s Deshopriyo Park since decades. Patrons love their humble hing kachoris, jalebis, gulab jamuns and rejuvenating bharer cha. Around 40 years ago, the shop had started like regular roadside stalls, and has maintained its signature taste even today. Their traditional hing kachoris served with alur torkari and topped with green chillies is a great breakfast option. This, when paired with the tea, tastes simply out of the world.

Sudden visit to this awesome place to fulfill morning hunger. Honesty one of the best kachoris of Kolkata I ever had. This shop is nearly heritage by the age and the quality is still to notch. Although it's a road side food joint but still you will find so many people from wealthy families having breakfast along with their kids and family members. I have been visiting this place for quite a long time. The place where they sell the kachoris and tea, just beside that store, there is a lassi stand. From the lassi stand, try their inhouse made "Malai Toast". It is mind blowing just. Tell them to add sugar on top of it before serving you. You can also have their lassi, they are a bit thick but you will love the taste. There is a menu chart pasted in front of the lassi stand cash counter. Nothing to tell about their kachoris and tea. Note - Bike parking is easily available on the side of the street. But car parking might be a real issue, you can try parking in front of the shop, if not just use the lane going by the side of the shop and you will get places to park.

One of the best places to have your breakfast be it on a Sunday or a weekday. The place is always bustling with people and there is always rush. But yes you can finish your Breakfast here within 15-20 mins. Service is quick enough but yes you need to have patience and play the waiting game before you get your ordered food. The taste was awesome 😎 and a must place to visit.
