Curd Corner is an oasis of friendly, helpful calm. Sunny the owner has great hospitality. He makes wonderful juices, porridge and real bean coffee. He also gives great information. I was so grateful to discover Curd Corner on my first morning in Kolkata.

Most foreign tourists visit here to purchase their usim chips in India. The shop owner provides simple morning breakfast and afternoon meals and cereals for the hungry tourists ready to explore the Indian Museum and the Victoria Memorial.
If you need to change the currency from US dollars to Indian rupees, ask them and they will provide the best rate without any fleece or fraud.

Very nice porridge (nothing fancy, just oats not over cooked with water and honey), big portion! Also the pancake is really nice with peanut butter, as is the tea (also big cup) and coffee is not nescafé. Owner is very nice as well.
The only down side is hygiene… the utensils weren’t really clean and inside there were many fruit flies and mosquitos.

In my opinion kurd corner is the best shop in Kolkata! Very friendly owner and tasteful sandwiches, coffee and curd. Me and my friends visited everyday for a month! :)

This place has the best fruit salad I experienced in India. The fruit and curd was actually cold and refreshing. Not at a street temperature of 40 degrees. The owner was also nice and friendly. You won't regret this stop.
