We celebrated the onset of the New Year with a visit to Bawarchi in Jadavpur, Kolkata. The restaurant boasted a delightful culinary experience, with a few noteworthy observations.Food Quality (4/5): The special Mutton Khas Biryani was a star of the evening, generously portioned for two. The Chicken Bharta paired with plain naan was a delightful combination, offering a burst of flavors. However, the mutton pieces fell slightly short of expectations in size, considering the price point.Service (4/5): The service at Bawarchi was commendable. The staff was attentive and accommodating, contributing to an overall pleasant dining experience.Ambiance (3/5): While the restaurant exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, the overcrowded ambiance on New Year's Day led to a wait before being seated. Despite the minor hiccup with waiting times and mutton piece size, the overall quality of food and service makes it a worthwhile visit.

The ambience inside is quite pleasant and suitable for family dining. very well organized inside. The behavior of the waiters is very good Food quality is pretty good, but the special fried rice is pretty good Dry chilli in Manchurian chicken that gives it more here. I ordered Bawarchi Special Fried Rice and Manchurian Chicken.

We went there on a weekday evening, it was mostly empty except for 2 tables. Ordered Chicken drumsticks for starters which took quite a while to come, there were 12 pieces but all very small in size and mostly filled with batter, but the taste was nice. Then we had a egg hakka noodles with Devil's chicken, which was written as "Must try" in the menu, but wasn't really that good. Service was nice and prompt. Only downside was that in the middle of our meal, few service men were working on electrical lines and creating a commotion that ruined the atmosphere. If you just focus on the taste and quantity then it's a very good restaurant.
