Spice Garden

Had one of the Worst experiences in my 8 years of patronizing this hotel. The hotel has always boasted a fantastic Front Desk. We were always allowed 30 minutes or one hour buffer with our baggage ready to check out, latest before 2pm. Sometimes, when the hotel is not full they have even extended till 3pm. Today, I returned back to my room at 11.45am, started packing immediately knowing the checkout time of 12.30pm. The front desk called me at 12.10 and asked me vacate before 12.30 or I would be charged half day extra. Fine, I said "give me 10 minutes to finish tea"...and the man says "shall I send the bell boy for the baggage?". I said give me 10 minutes. He said "Sir at 12.30pm your bill will automatically show half day charges of 2500+ taxes".... He did not even have the decency to let me finish my tea. He hounded me out. Never in my 8 years have I experienced this behavior. Highly deplorable. A few Associated Colleges along with us give at least 100+ room booking during Admission seasons. Never again. Left a very bad taste. To top it, he made me wait for 15 minutes for a Bill which was already prepaid without any additional add-ons.

Rooms are old and under maintained, the cupboard door was broken and windows were not clean. Food is average except for Mishti Doi, which tasted amazing. The breakfast buffet is really sad. The cleaning lady was amazing, she always did a great job. The location is fantastic, it's near all tourist spots, tram stops right in front and metro station is nearby as well.
