Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant

Pleasantly surprised at my dining experience last night. Booked a table online at 6:30 for 7:15pm via Google - nice and easy. Friendly service and greeting. Ordered the 1L of lychee sangria which was sweet but fruity. Mains were the Combination Dinner #7 with chicken enchilada, chicken taco, Spanish rice and chilli con carne. The other was #12 with beef enchilada, beef taco and Spanish rice. Plates are scorching hot - even though I was warned, I accidentally touched it and ouch! Dessert was the fried banana - so good, highly recommend.

Unfortunately I should have read some of the google reviews before we decided to tryout Mexican food.. Tables where sticky in some spots and my pants stuck to chair also. Couldn’t really adjust in my seat with out peeling my pants off the chair first. Chicken Nachos came out warm and chicken dry with no flavour. $20 about 10-12 chips on it. Taquitas came out hot and taste very nice, but small. 2 for $10.50 $4.50 each Pepsi max came out flat and tasted not right, could of been the large chunks of ice. Very watery. Fajitas came out super dry and very tough and chewy, hard to swallow. No taste at all. Amount about the size of a small steak $29.50. Total cost $104 value $50. Feeling very underwhelmed and ripped off. Shane place has some potential, just need some good staff, better chefs and staff, Bit more engaging with customers and explain what the Mexican experience if about could of help. If you go you maybe dissatisfied.

This place is great. Good Mexican food and drinks. The prices are cheap and on Mondays, kids get a free meal, drink, and an ice cream for every adult meal purchased. I think that it's a great idea. Usually for dinner it's not too busy but sometimes it can get a little bit busy. The staff are nice and friendly, the food gets delivered quickly and was very delicious.

We had dinner Saturday night, very busy and didn't have parking but you can park on the side street. The food was amazing, I wanted to try something different so I got the spicy pina colada and mole poblano.. highly recommended, the cooked banana was so tasty and pineapple goes so well with chicken and rice.

Met up with two other friends for dinner tonight. Unfortunately I have to rate this experience as a 2 star. Even though we didn’t reserve a table the lovely staff greeted us and accepted that we didn’t have a booking and arranged for us to be seated. Mentioned that it was school holidays and there were a lot of bookings, however didn’t seem to have the staff to cater. Longish wait times, food order error (but was rectified). I personally wouldn’t come back due to longish wait times, the atmosphere of the venue and the averageness of the food. All the best for future dealings with this restaurant and I hope your experience may be better than ours.
