El Paraiso Restaurant

A few years back I was in search of some platanos con crema (plantains with cream) and I came across this hidden gem. Even though that's all I wanted that day I took home a menu and decided to give them a try with the other dishes and I have never been disappointed... My favorite dish is the mojarra a la diabla (a whole fish in a spicy hot sauce)... It's absolutely delicious l...My second favorite is their Mexican shrimp cocktail... They are very generous with the jumbo shrimp... I've never been disappointed with anything that I've tried off of their menu... They are very friendly there!

Delicious Salvadoran food in South OC. They serve a variety of different pupusas as well as homemade chicken soup, tortillas and carne asada. The food is authentic tasting and delicious. They were very busy when we went and had to wait a very long time to get our food. Also the seating is crammed and not very accessible friendly for elderly customers using a walker. Other than that I highly recommend this restaurant.

It's easy to miss this place. If your not paying attention . It's next to an auto body shop . It's a small restaurant. Not many tables inside. It gets super busy during lunch time. I made it in before the lunch crowd. There aren't too many Salvadorian restaurants around. Which is really unfortunate. El Paraiso is one of my favorite places for pupusas. I usually order cheese and beans with a Jamaica agua fresca. Overall, the food is really good .

It's a small family restaurant, a neighborhood restaurant, but the food is really authentic Salvadorian food and the service super friendly. It can get really busy, so go there with time or ready to order to go if there are no tables. The setting is pretty simple with seating for maybe 20 people. My favorite dishes were the pupusas, the fried plantain and the Caldo de gallina. Servings are huge, so order moderately to share.
