The Cake Man

Found multiple hairs in the cake. At first, I thought that it was mine but then I found the second and third one. Such a shame because the cake is great. Update: I got a prompt call the next day. Apparently, it's a fibre from the boxes and they are in the process of changing the boxes because of that. The cake I had was great and I will be trying other ones soon.

Been there before, was OK for their price, not particularly good value though. Sadly, my wife bought a chocolate mud cake last Thurs and it was not fresh and very dry. The chocolate garnish was so aged and gluey I thought I was cutting through dried silicon, and the cake crumbled everywhere. We all agreed the mud cake in one of the big supermarket chains is much better than this one. Since we paid $40 for this cake, of course would keep eating rather than threw it away. But this will be our last from this cake shop. Besides, the cake box design was so "cleverly" chosen that you have to hold it with 2 hands in case it slides out. Nothing wrong, just not my style.

We bought a lemon and meringue tart for my wife's birthday. It was delicious and was a great blend of tart and (not too) sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We found the lady who served us (Apple) to he very helpful and attentive. It's a nice touch how they name their cakes after staff members, and makes it easier to order.

My go to place when I crave a couple of pieces of cake. Chocolate Raspberry Macaroon cake and Caramelised Millie Feullie are my favourites. You can also get a small cake (4") to regular cake (7") between $20 to $50. I think their service improved since their ownership change about 3-4 years ago in general.

The good news...the cake tasted great. The bad news.....my fiance and I ordered a buttercream and chocolate ganache cake in person one month in advance, and paid for in full in advance for 80 people for our wedding day (2 tiers). I turned up on the day 2 hours early by chance and was shown a cake for 60 people. The staff took no responsibility for their error and I was forced to pay an extra $135 on top of the $230 we were originally quoted.
