The Alcott Lane Cove

Dinner for two before we headed into the city for a show. We reserved a table and it was ready for us at the allotted time and even had a table water with 2 glasses waiting which was a really nice touch. The menu here was amazing. There was so much we wanted to try yet of course could not. This means we will have to return. The food we did order was delicious. So flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The options of ordering at the bar or directly from the table via QR code was nice also. The service was pleasant with all staff being very polite and helpful. The setting of the dining room was beautiful and felt very accommodating to eat in. Highly recommend The Alcott. Special mention to the amazing Arancini - WOW.

It's actually a really nice place. Drink selection is solid, menu has been changed, although not for the worse. Unfortunately we have come to the conclusion that the pork bites have given food poisoning for a second time. Something is not correct with this dish. Other menu items nice, well portioned and tasty. I will say the prices of the burgers is far too high.

They had a great variety of tasty entrees and some good mains. The interior was nice and cosy and the extensive selection of wine was a bonus. Where they were let down was with the service. One staff member was very rude, but another was super friendly and made us feel welcome. I’ll go back a second time - hopefully the staff will be consistently friendly. Would rate 3.5 if possible.

Only a week old, this place is doing surprisingly well. Each dish was amazing and drinks were reasonably priced. Draught beer and wine selection is very good. Still a few things to iron out (like service to clear tables and timing of meals) but all in all a fantastic addition to the Lane Cove bar/restaurant scene.
