Pastaggio's Italian By Lorenzo

Today was a first visit to Pastaggio's and it surpassed our expectations. The thin crust pizza we order was fully loaded with a hearty selection of meat, which my husband loved. We also ordered a Mediterranean Salad that was delicious. They also have a freezer selection of Green Chili Alfredo Sauce that I plan to go back for to put on veggie noodles.

Had not been there in over 6 months. I called and called and called some more to be sure they were open....alas all I got was a recording. I took the trip down there from the East Mesa and they were open. NO PATRONS!! I asked the young lady why weren't they answering the phone....she didn't know or care. She took my order, which seemed to take forever! I asked for a gluten-free chocolate torte cake, it was a sliver, and very overpriced. The food was good, but the portions were smaller than before!!! (And I think the price went up too.) I am gluten free, NOT by choice, so I can't be picky, and their food is Ok, so I make the sacrifice and order there. I really wish they had competitors. So it boils down to how badly I want their food , the price, and the borderline service.

Our family feels this the best Italian at the best price in town. However the takeout service is a crapshoot. Tonight wasn't the first debacle but the most egregious. The first call was answered by a gentleman who ask me to hold. 10 minutes later, I knew I was forgotten. Called back and young lady answered and was ready to take my order. Order placed and she repeated it back perfectly. My wife picked up the order and was curious about the huge pizza ordered and was surprised to hear there was 3 salads ordered since only 2 were handed over. She went back and got the missing salad. At home discovered the Caesar salads had ranch dressing, the house salad with ranch had a vinaigrette dressing, the cheese ravioli was meat, and the 12in pizza was 14in. Not sure what size pizza we paid for but the repeated order was for 12in. In summary, I was put on hold and forgotten and 5 out of 6 items were incorrectly prepared. Will be glad when COVID over and can eat in person but I feared the exact result of tonight because it's not the first time.

I visited Cruces in August to see some friends and family and a very good friend of mine really wanted me to try them so we did. We both order what I believe was the Green Chile Alfredo and lord was that so delicious! I’d give it a 5 but my friend said that as good as it was it was usually better. So we will see next time I’m in the city.

Food is excellent, in-store customer service is great. I've never had a bad experience when dining-in, however, I would not recommend them for catering. My husband and I hired them for our wedding earlier this year and had so much trouble getting in contact with the catering manager. Turns out they hired a new catering manager and that person was just as terrible. We paid for servers that did not serve, they sat in the corner on their phones. When we contacted the restaurant about it we were offered a gift card, which clearly was not how we paid. In the end we accepted the gift card due to Covid-19 and trying to be understanding. Upon using the gift card, it was not for the amount we were told we were being refunded.
