The Cracked Egg

When they brought out the coffee cake...omg. I almost geeked out. I used to be a professional baker so I can appreciate a good cake. This huge block of cake was too perfection. It was bouncy as she was setting it down. Instantly loved the look and texture. But then the real test... flavor. I cannot describe how amazing this cake tastes. It's definitely a must try! You can even order a whole cake. It might sound pricey (it was $105 for a whole cake according to menu), but I promise you... the price would be worth it. As for other menu items that we ordered... they did not disappoint. If I don't want to be the size of a house, this place will only be an occasional stop for us. I recommend going here, but portions are large. Maybe order an extra coffee cake slice and one meal to split with someone. The cake is large enough to share, but I promise you won't want to! 😉

We visited again today and tried different menu items that were all delicious!! Ryan our server gave us some very good recommendations. He was very friendly and didn’t let our coffee cups go dry the entire breakfast! The apple coffee cake baked daily in-house is a must order item! It’s 2 inches high, super fluffy and full of apples! Bonus is that you can substitute it in place of toast with your egg entrees! I had one of the daily specials; the Benny Tostada that was loaded with black beans, onion, smoked green and red peppers, poached eggs, in-house salsa verde and bubbling cheese. I substituted carnitas meat with corned beef hash and it was delicious! This is a great place to meet friends, family and ease into the day. The entire staff here is happy to serve you and get your day off to a fantastic start! ————- The Cracked Egg is a breakfast place but also serves lunch too. They offer a large variety of the common breakfast favorites; omelettes, skillets, pancakes etc… The place was kept tidy, service was very good and warm food came out promptly to the table. They do have nice outdoor dining in back of the restaurant. Pancakes were good but lacked flavor and could have been fluffier. I like that the accompanying syrup was served warm. I really like that they also offer turkey bacon and sausage too! I had a piece of each and they were cooked perfectly and not dry or chewy.

Highly recommend! We are in town from South Carolina. I looked up reviews of a good breakfast place and found this place 10 minutes from our hotel. First impression, Super clean! Excellent service too, Ryan checked in multiple times and refilled without being asked. I ordered steak and eggs (both cooked literally perfect to my requested style and temp). My coffee never ran out nor my unsweetened tea. It was busy, but not packed. Comfortable seating no wait for the table. (9:00 am). Kitchen looks very clean from my seat. (Currently writing as I’m finishing my coffee). Will be back. Husband was very happy too. He ordered South Shore scramble and he loved it.

Honestly you can't go wrong at this establishment. We randomly stumbled upon this place. I've only been here twice, but my parents has been here multiple times and never once completed. I also get the same dish chicken fried steak and was one of the best chicken fried steak I had in quite some time. One thing I wasn't a fan of was the Pancake it fell short for me, but I'm extremely biased when it comes to them. The steak and eggs which my dad had was a decent size steak. For the price of the food you get the money worth and the random coffee cake choice is great. It was pumpkin that day and it was really delicious

Overall great experience, staff was ready to go when they opened and friendly. I suggest getting there early if you enjoy trying their coffee cake, once it's gone it's gone. And it is worth it! Light, fluffy, and delicious! The huevos ranchero I felt was a missing some flavor, instead of tasting like a salsa it tasted like just tomatoes. And the potatoes were a toss up. Some were tender with a crisp outside and others were hard all the way through.
