Jack Stack Barbecue - Lee's Summit

This is our go-to BBQ place when we are in the Kansas City area. We were visiting over the Christmas holiday. As expected the service was fantastic and the food was even better. Do yourself a favor and order the burnt ends. They do not disappoint! We tried the jalapeño corn bread and oh boy was that delicious! We will be back for some great food next time we are in the Kansas City area.

We saw the good reviews online and decided to try it today for the first time. My fiance and I shared the choose 3 sampler combo and couldn't believe how tiny the 2 sides were (baked beans and cheesy corn). Each side was barely enough for 1 person, let alone for 2 to share. I expected real cheese in the corn like cheddar or something but it was more like velveeta, gross. The meat portions were tiny as well. There were just 3 burnt end pieces, mostly fat instead of meat, and the lamb ribs were overcooked and dry. They also never mentioned that choosing lamb ribs would cost an additional $3.50, much to our surprise when we saw the receipt at home. The bread tasted like something out of a grocery store shelf and not fresh made in a restaurant. We had such high hopes for our first experience but were left disappointed and hungry instead.

I am not normally one to do this, and I am normally a huge fan of Jack Stack but this is twice now. We ordered pick up for Christmas on the Saturday before (wanted to be sure we got it in with time). On our chosen day we arrive at our scheduled time and our order is not ready, in fact it can't be found at all. After waiting 30 minutes for the to find the order, someone comes and offers us a drink and promises a gift card for our delay. I thought this was a good offer. However, when the food did arrive l, finally it came with out said gift card. I let it go because it was busy and we got our food. When we discover that a side had been left off (salad) as well as no BBQ sauce, or the dressing we asked for. Again, let it go because it is Christmas. Today (Christmas) we go to heat our food only to discover that the potato we ordered was not cooked, at all. Again, normally I am a fan, but they have been doing pick up forever, I feel like this many issues on the same order is just a lack of effort. Sorry, not sure I can go back.

I went in an placed my order salmon salad, when I got home and started eating I noticed there were no honey pecans on my salad. I did call back and reported and manager said I can come get another one but it was getting late in evening i did not want to be out at night by myself, so she is sending me a gift card
