The Calverley Arms

Came for midweek lunch with out of town friends and their two very well behaved dogs. We were in the dog friendly bar area which was very quiet. The specials menu was great, suited us all and we were very relaxed and ate at a leisurely pace. The food was really good, hot and well presented. I am sure that we will be back the next time my friends are in town, but in the meantime I know that I will be, as I want to try something 'new to me' on the menu! Thank you Jo, Kai and Michelle for making lunch great!

Came here at short notice (booked a table online) for Sunday lunch. Not disappointed at all. Served by the lovely attentive Jessica. Great food, lashings of gravy and my pork belly roast dinner was sublime. We started with a warm scotch egg apiece. My husband opted for the trio of meats roast, and we finished with the honey pot dessert and cheese board. It's not cheap, but then where is these days, but its worth the money for a bit of a treat on a Sunday

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a stunning location I would highly recommend. staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing especially Jo what a delight it was to wake up and be greeted with such a lovely lady at breakfast, menu is fantastic so much choice Lots of different tea’s, coffees and juices. Our room was very spacious and clean the bed was sooo comfy. We will definitely be returning . Thank you so much for having us kind regards Demi and amari xx

Visited for lateish Sunday lunch. Quite busy in the pub & restaurant. We got a drink at the bar then we're shown to our table which we had booked. We enjoyed for starters, Garlic mushrooms on toasted sourdough bread and the Lamb Koftas. For main courses, a Trio of Roasts with all the trimmings and the Seabass & prawns with roasted new potatoes and tender stem broccoli. All very much enjoyed, well cooked and presented. We were served by Millie who was very friendly and professional. She looked after us very well. Thank you.

Great service from Millie who was rushed off her feet as short staffed but she was very professional and friendly. High praise for her as you don't often get this with p/t student staff. Chicken salad was good, garlic mushroom starter pretty average and more like cream sauce than garlic. Would go again but wouldnt stay over as the mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on a table and didnt sleep a wink. Not great when you have to be up at 4am for a flight.

Have past here often and always thought it looked lovely. Today my wife and I decided to try it out and we were not disappointed. Wonderful and engaging staff, lovely atmosphere, terrific food (we had a selection of the bar snacks). My highlight was probably the best pint of Guinness I have had in the UK since coming over from Ireland. I am so often disappointed however Lucy expertly pulled the perfect pint and looked after us so well, she was a credit to the pub.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Very nice location and grounds, views across the valley etc, staff are friendly and breakfast was amazing. Free tea and coffee available for guests of hotel until 9:30am even if not having breakfast which I thought was a nice touch. Bit noisy in the evenings until pub closes at 11pm but to be expected. Would definitely recommend.

A really inviting atmosphere with caring and attentive staff. We were greeted on arrival and seated and had time to admire the building chat and choose our food before having a server attend to our needs. Set in fantastic grounds and would be a lovely place to have lunch on a sunny summer's day. Highly recommended!

Lovely pub, with separate areas, bar area and a private booth for birthdays or other special events. The only downside is that it's slightly overpriced and when we visited it took too long to get our food. We sat at the end of the restaurant feeling a little isolated from everyone else. The bar and first restaurant area are more lovely and cosy. Unlikely to visit again as we got another Vintage closer to our home.
