Hopkins Farm Creamery

I highly recommend a stop here. The ice cream is creamy and delicious and there's just something about eating ice cream at a dairy farm that makes it even more enjoyable. I "had" to order the "Cow Pie" flavor, and it was amazing! We went at lunchtime in the off season, and there was a line, so if you're going in the summer, you may want to avoid peak hours, but even if you arrive and find a long line, stick it out because the ice cream is worth it!

I was very excited coming here but was let down quite a bit. First, 75% of their offerings were out. I am not exaggerating either as they really only had a few things like vanilla and chocolate. Second, it took an absurd amount of time to get a simple order AND it was far from crowded. Third, I was given my ice cream with it spilling over on all sides. I don't care if ice cream is leaking here or there but I mean it was falling down on every side. I ended up with quite a bit of my order being on the ground.

I'm lactose intolerant, and while there are a few dairy free options, I had to try the ice cream (I just took a few lactaid pills to eat my 1 scoop, ha!). I had Mint Chocolate Chip and my brother got Moo Cookies. Both were delicious!! I loved seeing the cows on the property too...the smell is bad near the cows but not near the ice cream stand in the front. I did not do a tour, but maybe on my next visit I'll tour the farm.

We always loved Hopkins Ice Creams and were regular customers in past years. More recently we have been disappointed at Hopkins. This year Their flavor selection was limited to just a few flavors, not the large list they always had in past years. They no longer have cows or a dairy business. All the dairy farm equipment is gone. It’s Just the ice cream stand now. At our last 3 visits They no longer offered hand dipped pints and quarts except for just 3 flavors that were prefilled containers. They will give you individual scoops to equal a pint or quart but then charge for each individual serving instead of the pint or quart price like they used to do. We were told it was a new management rule. Service is much slower than it was in previous years with lots of socializing now among the teen workers.
