The Juggs

Stopped off on the off chance and what a pleasant surprise. Lovely old pub ( low ceilings ) with a wide selection of beer and what looked like a first class Sunday dinner. Plenty of outside seating and covered ares as well. Given the opportunity would try the food as certain we would not be disappointed

We came to Juggs for our post wedding lunch, there were over 30 of us and Emma put on such a fantastic spread of delicious buffet food, she reserved the outdoor space for us and we had a fantastic time. She was really accomodating throughout the planning and we would definitely use Juggs again for a party!

Cracking village pub. We came for the Sunday lunch. Despite being a chef down the whole team worked hard to get food out to all the customers. Nice beers. Solid food. Reasonable value. A short walk up to or down from the sourh downs. A really good alternative to the devil's dyke if you're walking or cycling along.

This has always been one of my favourite pubs. Great pub and amazing garden in a lovely village. The staff behind the bar were friendly. However the quality of the food was shocking. You must do better. Fish finger sandwich with dry fish fingers and dry sliced regular supermarket bread. I had what was probably the worst cheese sandwich i could possibly imagine with so little cheese and so much chutney it was almost comical. The kids fish fingers and chips were passable but the chips could have been cooked another minute or 2. If you own this pub get a new chef they are going to ruin your pubs reputation. If the owner is the chef get a proper chef quickly you can’t cook. That said don’t avoid this place it’s lovely for a drink in the sun or a quiet winter drink. If they ignore this review then I’m sure lots more will follow and lead to catastrophe. If they try harder this place will thrive. Please listen to balanced feedback……

Recommended. Saw this pub while passing through Monday 1pm-ish and dropped in for lunch. Has a car park which was full. Spaces in the street as well so parked there instead. It was busy but plenty of tables; there are four separate outdoor dining areas, most of which are shaded by trees, umbrellas, or a canopy. Waitress service or at the bar. Very old pub with very low ceilings and doorways. I'm 6'6"and was bent double inside - when I wasn't banging my head! Decent selection of beer, including real ales. We had pink gin and tonic, served with strawberries, plus pint ale shandy both of which were nice. Ate mackerel fillet which comprised four perfectly cooked small fillets, bit of salad and freshly made new potato salad underneath, delicious. Also had large cod and chips, fish was decent but peas bit shriveled from over boiling and chips, meh. Afterwards had cheesecake with apricot compost afterwards and black coffee, again lovely. Staff attentive and helpful. Pewter tankard at bar for tips so made use of that. £49.50 including £3 tip (all the change I had, sorry!). Great experience, thank you
