Han Cook In

While the food is delicious and unique, there are some other aspects of this restaurant left to be desired. The front of house person, while friendly, would do well to listen more and talk less. I ordered a dish (unbeknownst to me) that was so spicy I could not eat it. The server apologized but charged me for the dish anyway. The side dishes are so small they can hardly be called side dishes. When I ordered a dish that ensured me I was buying a side salad with green onions, instead I received a sprinkling of green onions on the main dish. What's more is the food is WAY overpriced for the quantity of food you actually receive. Han Cook In has potential to be a really great restaurant, but they are definitely not there yet.

I love Lucy's food buggy's fare, so of course I had to stop by her new restaurant when I got the chance. The setting is nice and bright without the need for overly done lighting. The food was all very good and with it having been a pre-opening she ran out of some foods, but that is part of what a pre-opening is for, to find out how much food to stock. Her dishes were all very tasty and I really enjoyed my Ramen soup. However, the prices seem a little high, but that could be because of where she is getting her ingredients (mostly local). I did miss her not having her signature "hot" sauce chicken she serves out of her food buggy. The front of house was quite talkative as another reviewer staged, but we enjoyed talking with her and for how short of a time she had been there she was mostly knowledgeable of the menu. I will be coming back, but I may frequent her food buggy more than her restaurant.

Menu was confusing and the employees weren't really sure what they were selling. The items used to make your meal where not fresh (lettuce was brown and uneatable). You get a hot dish of rice with an egg and you select the meat but then you have cold items (broccoli and green bean, carrots, bacon) that you place on your bowl. When the meal was ready the staff would tell you that it was ready and set it on the counter upfront for you to pick up. Can't understand why they wouldn't deliver it to the table (it's not like they were to busy, 4 customers in the whole restaurant). The concept is okay the execution is poor.
