Today, Thanksgiving, our family ate at the Thanksgiving Buffet in the Ballroom. The service was outstanding!!! The food was delicious!! Amanda, our waitress did everything she could to make it a warm , friendly experience. Debra and others also helped. The chef and his helpers did a fantastic job cooking and displaying all the dishes. When one of our party asked if they had cranberry sauce to add to the delicious meal, the guys in the back ,not only put it out for us, but added a bowl to the other food. The host, the lady at the front desk, everyone, made it an enjoyable experience

I had always wanted to try this place and on a whim we dropped by on a Friday night. So without a reservation we were told they were seating people outside at about 52 degrees, but we stated if that were the case we would prefer to go elsewhere; however, they conveniently found us a table inside. The service was ok. Mixed cocktail was about the worst I’ve ever had. Saxophone player was extremely loud, so loud I couldn’t hear anyone in our party speak through the entire dinner service. The pasta dish may as well have been Chef Boy Boyardee served with garnish. Atmosphere was very stuffy with the scantily dressed to your local yuppies. Decor was outdated and stale. To sum it up...if you enjoy paying for overpriced food from a mediocre menu in a stuffy environment this is the place to go. I’m not sure who is leaving all the good reviews because I found this establishment to be extremely disappointing we should have eaten across the street!

The food looks incredible and it’s a shame I won’t be able to try it given they force employees to work sick and retaliate when they vent about it. Why would you expose your guests to deadly illness on the eve of a global pandemic? The restaurant business is hard and I feel for places about to be hit with a major lull. But I would never trust the food at a place where I knew the management made staff work with flu symptoms, and especially not now.

For our first visit we first ordered pizza and were not disappointed. There was a table next to us that had a local sampler on a large wooden tray that looked amazing. We would recommend drinking the Sardinian wines and beer available. The second time we did the seafood sampler, which was very different from the one we saw there other night. It was wonderful. So light and fresh. The flavors were true to the Sardinian cuisine we had come to enjoy while you’re here.

While the food was acceptable, it certainly wasn't worth what we were charged. It wasn't clear on the menu when we ordered the salad, that adding a protein was so much more. It does show on the menu (as seen on the attached menu), for some reason we read it as adding that protein made the price of the salad what was shown there next to the chosen protein. The salad was also incredibly small, about the size of my fist. We paid over $40 for two salads and two waters! We left the restaurant hungry, which was as disappointing as the fact that the veranda was closed for electrical repairs. We also had to ask for salt and pepper. The ambiance was ok, but again, not worth the high price of the food. Not a place we will be visiting again.

Our local friends took my partner and me here because the place we wanted to go to was booked. We were pleasantly surprised to see that there would be no wait since we did not have reservations. Attractive setting. Pleasant hostess and server. Drinks were good. The acoustics were very bad however. It was difficult to carry on a normal conversation. Other annoying things were: No salt and pepper on the table. One of us wanted salt and the other wanted pepper and we had to wait before we could start eating. Also... My soup was served without a spoon. Had to wait while soup got cold for a spoon. Waitress carried everything clumsily without a tray. Holding dishes up against her body in a very awkward looking way. The food was mediocre but we were starving so we ate everything. The worst part was that my pasta dish (Spaghetti Carbonara) was so salty I could not eat it. It tasted like the Chef poured a cup of salt into the sauce! We all tried it and agreed. I have high blood pressure so I could not eat it because I don't eat lot's of salt. The strange thing is that I ordered the same dish as my partner with gluten free pasta instead of the spaghetti. His was not salty at all! The waitress asked if I wanted them to re-make it. I asked them to re-make mine to be like his with regular pasta instead of the gluten-free pasta this time, but with no salt at all. When it finally came out it was just okay. Kind of insipid. But I was starving! We all agreed that the entire experience was rather lackluster. And nothing made us want to go back. Disappointing. Meh. Would really be impressed if the Chef or manager or owner responded to this however. If there was some response we might want to try again in warmer weather when outdoor seating is available.

My fiancé and I came to Roanoke/Natural Bridge for a 48 hour fly-by-the-seat adventure from Tampa. Wandered to Lexington looking for dinner and stumbled on this beautiful hotel. Sat on the balcony and enjoyed excellent service and indescribably superb food. We could quite literally taste the freshness of the ingredients. My fiancé raved over every bite of every dish, and said it was the best Caesar salad he’d ever had (with locally grown hydro greens and housemade dressing and croutons). We even sought out the chef (which we’ve never done) to personally express our culinary pleasure. Highly recommend.
