Saucy Buns Bbq Company

Since me and my family have moved to Denver about 20 years ago we have searched for Denvers best bbq. This place is a down right delicious BBQ. Not only was I satisfied with the food, but the staff is beyond friendly! The brisket is prefect, as is the pulled pork. The BBQ sauce is a wonderful mix of tangy, sweet, and a hint of spicy. If you want good BBQ I really recommend stopping by!

I really wanted to like this place. After reading the previous reviews we were so excited to try Saucy Buns out. My husband ordered the Angry Texan. The meat had a good flavor but the execution was terrible. There was no cheese on it. And there was one...ONE sliver of a jalapeno on it. It was not the owner who put it together..it was some kid with red hair. My husband had to get back in line and ask for more jalepenos. He was given two...TWO more slivers of jalapeno. I'm not sure if it came with sauce on it but there definitely wasn't any. Nor was there BBQ sauce or ketchup on our table. My husband had to get back in line to ask for some BBQ sauce. When his and my son's food was brought out there were no fries with my sons meal and barely any with my husband's. The owner stated he had more fries cooking and would bring them out. Towards the end of our meal my husband...for the third time now...had to get back in line and ask for the fries. What we were given were dried out, way over cooked fries. I ordered the Nashville chicken strips with sweet potato fries...both were good!...hence the 2 stars.The chicken strips came on top of a piece of plain dried out Texas toast. It had not been toasted or buttered. Also...if you're not a fan of super sweet BBQ sauce you will not like theirs. We tried the regular sauce and the "spicy" BBQ sauce...Sweetness overload! I prefer a more savory, smoky, somewhat spicy sauce. We left irritated that we waisted $40 and ended up going to Wing Stop right after. We were going to complain but there was a line and the lady that was in the dining area was busy handling a complaint from another customer. I love supporting small businesses but this just wasn't good. I really wanted to try their ribs but after tasting their BBQ sauce, that just wasn't going to happen. I tried this place a few days ago for the first time since they opened. Service was fantastic, and the Barbecue was some of the best I've had in Colorado. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The pork was smoked to perfection, with a nice crisp char and smokey flavor. Their barbecue sauce is sort of a mix of mildly spicy, vinegary, and sweet. Definitely one of the best sauces I have had in Colorado. The owners were courteous and welcoming. I will be back!

Awwww... Saucy Buns! You are saucy and sassy for sure! Although my visit / images are from earlier in the year, I have to say this place is d'bomb! Stu and Missy have done a great job of serving up the best brisket and ribs in town. And that mac-n-cheese? Oh meeeee geee! So delicious. Next time, we need to order a whole gallon of that alone. Be sure to check out their specials and take-out hours during this time. Support local businesses and this Littleton gem next to the theatres on Bowles and Kipling.

We used Saucy Buns to cater a rehearsal lunch for our recent wedding. Our guests highly complimented the food, including comments like "this is the best brisket I've ever had". They were also very easy to work with for the booking process and they supplied burners, tongs and other items that made setting up easy and kept the food fresh and hot. They also worked around a pork allergy which is not always easy for a BBQ place :)
