For us as visitors to the city this place captured us, such a great feel to the place..very busy on both occasions.....the staff were excellent, efficient, purposeful. The food on both visits was lovely, I watched the prep of the food and it was so clinically prepared, not one finger touched the food...brilliantly prepared..(I'm a bit of a hygiene freak).. Liverpudlian folk are lovely, they are so friendly, I felt as part of one of the locals...Yes definitely will return to the Captain, as the management here hit the brief...on all of my requirements of a public house...10/10..

Very nice Spoons, but the food had less quality than other JDs. We asked for Eggs Benedict, but they were overcooked and with a tiny mushroom (in other spoons the egg is well prepared and even some rocket on top). Same vibe as any other spoons. We received an unclean silverware when our food arrived.
