Stopped here Saturday early evening. Had Jerk chicken skewers and rice on bed of veg on a skillet hot plate and husband had a steak with a hot sauce and chips. It was delicious, well cooked and clean plates from both of us. The cost with two drinks came to £28, amazing value for cost of living. Will be back.

Had a 16th birthday meal for my granddaughter with 15 guests. Absolutely amazing service from Cathy she was so attentive and nothing was too much for her, lovely smiles.
The meals were delicious and were served on time as everyone was eating at the same time which is great 👍. Can’t fault the halfway house and it’s are 2nd time there. Will definitely be rebooking again, Thank you 😊

A pub's atmosphere is made by the staff and this is definitely true in The Halfway House. They are always cheerful and happy to help. Always full on match night. Lovely spacious outdoor area to the side. Lots of car spaces.

Excellent Meal, Had calamari as a starter followed by a sizzling 8 ounce steak, was looked after by kathy. Pleasant and conscientious. Would definitely recommend.

It wasn’t too bad, I admit the tables felt unclean and the food was adequate. However, the bread buns for the burger and hot dog were a bit dry and crispy. Also I wasn’t granted blue light discount, because the lady behind the till didn’t know how to do the discount. So staff may need extra training and rework on food.
However, due to the friendly atmosphere I would be happy to come again for food and drinks.

Decent pub with good grub!
Popped in at lunch for a pint and fish and chips. Really good value for a pint of Guinness, a pint of brew dog and two fish and chips! The food was solid, and a well-poured Guinness.
They had a good selection of beer and the staff were friendly. I would return!

Best burger I’ve tasted in a long time. Polished it off with a waffle and ice cream and now I am well and truly stuffed!!! Great team that looked after us :) I would say I am some what of an expert on spiced rum but over never seen the cherry flavour. So of course I had to sample a double… then another. Decent

As regular visitors to Sizzling Pubs around the country I have to say the Halfway House is the very best we have found.
The food and ambience was superb and only topped by your waitress, Kathy, who is an absolute credit to your group.
The only problem is that we live around 100 miles away or this would have no issues being our ‘local’

Came in today to taste the new menu and it was spectacular! The food was amazing, the lady who served us Cathy was lovely, always asking us about drink refills and the man behind the bar mark always had a smile on his face, the staff in here are nothing but friendly, thank you halfway!
