Il Capitano's Knotty Ash

Its a bit of a random location in an old pub in the middle of knotty Ash. However the current owners have done a good job of transforming the decor in to what almost feels like a greek/fish restaurant vibe. The cuisine is Italian however and the Italian food is very good indeed. The pizzas are the best I've had outside of Naples. The caesar salad dressing is homemade and delicious. It would be great to see the addition of some pasta dishes. But with what they do offer, hey do it well and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Shout out to the manager who is always welcoming

An unexpected visit, but as we drove past we couldn't help but notice the boat outside, and that made us stop. Curiosity meant we ventured in and as soon as we were through the door we were given a very warm welcome. Great table by the window (with boat view) and an excellent menu with plenty of vege options. 2 pizzas and fries left us full and extremely satisfied. We'll be coming back even though it is a fair bit of a drive from where we live. Highly recommend. Good luck to them as they've only been open since August. They were giving pizzas to the nurses on strike today too, so bonus point. Solidarity. x

First time visiting IL Capitano's and it certainly won't be the last visit. We arrived half an hour before it had opened for the day however we were still invited inside by the lovely staff who were kind enough to still seat us and serve us despite us being there early. The pizza was absolutely lovely and so were the staff. Highly recommend!
