Mezza Livingston

I met up with my friend to get dinner and I made reservations for 6:30pm. When I arrived I parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked into a cute restaurant. Omar was our server and he was nice. This place is byob. For dinner I needed some adjustments because I don't do dairy and Omar had some issues with the kitchen saying they couldn't do certain things. So another server came out and said they could make my orzo and shrimp with a marinara sauce so I went with that. When the food came out it was very tasty. My friend liked hers as well. The bill came to about $65. We had a good time and would return.

Wow! Excellent ambiance, really well designed interior has your expectations super high. And the menu makes it difficult to select! We went with a few items to share to start, and ordered meals. I had the lamb shank, because I hadn't had one in a while and it was well worth it. The food was exquisite. It's BYO, which helps with the cost. Some reviewers note that it's a little pricy, but the quality is certainly there.

The food is outstanding!! Love their hummus and falafels, and the chicken koftas!! I got to try man my dishes, all their appetizers are served with warm pita (so fresh) and I also had the chicken shish kabab. We were seated outdoors, it was good until it started raining and we were bitten by huge mosquitos. The food is great but staff service is just average.

A really excellent Mediterranean restaurant. The best hummus! All the spreads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts are great. Nice presentation of dishes, fairly generous portions, friendly and knowledgeable service, very tasteful decor. BYOB; a wine shop is a two-minute walk away. Tables are nicely spaced. They also do very well for take-out. Plenty of free parking. One of our favorite restaurants in the entire area.

The restaurant I was originally supposed to go to with my friend was not allowing dine-ins. We saw this restaurant in the same shopping center and decided to try it out. I had such a great experience with the food and our server. We had the option to eat indoors or outdoors, it was a beautiful 70 degrees night so we chose outside. The atmosphere was very calm and easy going. Our server took great care of us and gave us plenty of time to figure out what we were going to order. We started off with the Meza starter. The hummus was rich and creamy, way better than any store-bought. There was another dip that I absolutely loved and it might be matbucha but I'm not certain. I ordered the Orzo with shrimp for my entree. This is hands down the best orzo I have ever had! I couldn't stop thinking about it even after I got home. It was rich, creamy and comforting. I am dying to go back and order this this again. I also ordered some pistachio baklava for dessert and that was also delicious. I enjoyed myself and the food so much at this restaurant I cannot wait to go back again!

With the interior design and price point of the food, I had high expectations. There were multiple parties going on as well. The food we got was not it. Everything was bland and dry. After the first bite, I did not want to eat anymore. Based on the reviews, maybe it was because they were overwhelmed with the parties going on? At this price, I am not willing to come and try it again. Sad because I was hoping to find a good Mediterranean restaurant. You're better off going to simply Greek across the street which was where I was intentionally going to.
