In 1381 Wat Tyler led the peasants revolt to Smithfield to confront Richard II for workers rights and abolition of taxes. 644 years later Beppes Cafe sits happily on this historic corner. A small cafe full of music and crammed with tradies (builders), barristers and passing public mixing together. I had a set menu which was large, hot and tasty. Condiments a bit fiddly, who doesn't love a squirty ketchup bottle but apart from that a quick and friendly service makes this place a must for any tradie parking at Smithfield. I wonder if Tyler took Richard II for the set menu whether the King would have been as full as I was after the lovely meal he would have decided to pardon poor Tyler rather than hack him to death, leaving us with less taxes and more money to spend at Beppe's.

Historic London gems like this cafe keep the world spinning! Family run, the friendly staff are attentive and in control, serving up delicious food (with plenty of Italian options) and some banging coffee too. Quick service, but take your time to watch Smithfield come to life in the morning 🌞

Very cute little family run Italian Cafe.
Nice menu.
I marked a 4 out of 5. My avocado was a little hard and the table a little wobbly and a bit of a squeeze to sit but lovely customer service and a nice energy inside.
My friend said his coffee was amazing and that his panini was really nice.

What a fantastic find! My dad and I popped in here for a bite to eat before a family funeral. A really local café with no pretensions and incredibly cheap. Who said London is expensive?

I found this little lovely place by chance. When you go in it’s like going back in time. Nothing fancy, but the sense of familiarity and welcoming feeling surrounds you from the first minute you go inside.
Everything arround the area is business buildings and a super fast pace. But here you forget about all your daily concerns.
Will be coming back for sure!

Beppe's cafe is what I had always pictured as a London cafe. Sausages, rashers, pudding and beans. Large portions and friendly staff. There is a reason why this place is busy. It's down to earth with down to earth food. It is the English cafe and it does that well. Tight next to the premier inn, it's a better breakfast experience.

Homely café with a great selection of breakfast foods, sandwiches and beverages. The price is very reasonable considering its location and the staff are all very personable. One of the best breakfast I had while visiting the UK (and my boyf from Manchester vouched for their fryup) and would recommend to anyone staying at the Premiere Inn next door to dine here instead.

Lovely family run independent cafe! Was so glad this was right next to the Premier Inn I was staying at as I would rather support a local business rather than a chain when possible. The highlight was the employees - so friendly and kind. My only negative feedback would be that the music was very loud inside so I sat outside and I thought the hash browns could have been crispier. Great prices also and great service - thank you!

What more can I say about this place? I came with my family last summer and we were all in love with the food, the people and the atmosphere. Our breakfast was well seasoned and the portions were generous. Staffs here are all jolly people who always serve you with a big smile on their face. They even gave us a plate of brownies and lemon drizzle cake on the house✨ I would definitely come back again!
