I think that it was Mary Poppins who said: Sometimes a person, through no fault of their own, can’t see past the end of his nose.” Over the years, I must have walked past this treasure trove of wine, without consciously noticing the venue. When I did become aware, I was always in the commuter rush to and from Tower Gateway. Today, I made time for a visit and am so pleased I did. Greated by the highly knowledgeable Peter, I immersed myself in the eclectic range of wines on display. So tempted was I that I stayed on for a lunchtime selection of farmhouse cheeses 🧀 and charcuterie, perfectly complemented by a crisp and refreshing Swiss white. Whilst the price of wines ranges from the easily accessible to the premium, the cheese and charcuterie boards are particularly good value, especially for the City. Based in an atmospheric cellar, this is undoubtedly a wine lover's paradise and not to be missed, which of course makes me wonder why it took me so long to discover. Fabulous little hidden gem in the heart of London! Located near the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The staff was friendly and attentive. I am not a wine-o but they did a great job of walking my husband and I through some of their wines by the glass. We had four excellent glasses and the wine library platter was a great assortment of cheeses, meats, breads, and so on. I highly recommend stopping in for an afternoon to find a wine that you may never have tried before.

Lovely little place. Wine cellar / vault like interior, quiet and intimate: feels almost as if you've stumbled across a secret. Fantastic choice of fine wines at a reasonable price. It's a bit shabby - could do with a coat of paint and there was a large spider in the toilet - but that kind of adds to its charm. The only real downside is the early closing time (8pm Tuesday to Friday) and we kind of had to rush to finish (although we were allowed to stay until after 8). The champagne we had was presented in an envy-inducing Le Creuset chiller, and the cheese plate was delicious. Well worth a visit for any wine enthusiast.
