Orford Road Tapas Bar

8.10.23 Orford Road tapas is just what a neighbourhood tapas bar should be; that is to say, warm welcoming staff serving simple, but carefully, skillfully and generously prepared and delivered tasty tapas with a smile on their faces. Somewhere you can pop in for a quick drink and snack with friends, a family get together or a romantic meal with a partner. It´s a lovely place and well worth crossing north London for! Thanks to all involved, the joy the excellent alioli and garlic mushrooms gave me distracted me from the pain of my broken wrist and the fabulous lentils, succulent prawns, and luxurious 3 cheese plate soothed my soul. Lovely service and vibes but the food wasn't that impressive, some things better than others. The calamari and patatas bravas were particularly disappointing... Felt a bit like a British grandma decided to have a go at tapas. Wouldn't be mad about going back if someone else chose it, but wouldn't choose it myself probably.

Fabulous tapas bar. Lovely and unusual wines from Spain, with great recommendations from manager. Food was all freshly made and very tasty, especially good croquetas de bacalao and a chorizo dish with lentils -- great vegetarian choices too. Tables in pedestrian area out front, and quiet outdoor space in rear garden (some covered). Highly recommended.
