B J's Pie And Mash Shop

Went here last month with my friend as I’ve wanted to try an authentic East End pie and mash for a while. The shop is in a rather unsuspecting part of Canning Town and was a bit of a walk from the nearest tube stop. However, when we arrived, we were greeted in a friendly manner and asked to take a seat. I ordered 2 pies and mash along with a side of jellied eels. The pie and wash with liquor was excellent and a reasonable price. I wasn’t a huge fan of the jellied eels but I got talking to the owner and he let me try the stewed eels instead, which were warm and tastier than the jellied variety. We had a very good time here and I enjoyed the banter and conversation with the employees. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area who wants a filling meal or just fancies trying pie and mash with eels, like myself.

the cheapest and one of the best p&m I have had. the staff were among the friendliest you will get in a p&m shop. very traditional at low prices, the quality is very high so great value for money, BJ pie and mash are flying the flag in an area that seems to have lost a lot of eastend tradition, keep up the good work well done.
