Flat Iron Kings Cross

waited for about 45 mins on a friday night with no reservation but it was worth it! steak cooked to perfection, sides were to die for (garlic mash was our uncontested winner), and you get free table popcorn and ice cream at the end. prices were very reasonable and service was fast. will definitely visit again

for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Free popcorn was nice touch, lovely atmosphere. We all had flat iron steaks with various sides and sauces. Really nicely cooked steaks, and sides were delicious. Had some carafes of really pleasant Italian house red wine which was perfect accompaniment. Our waitress Dominique was wonderful with a great sense of humour - thanks Dominique for very good friendly service. Finished off with free complimentary ice cream which was delicious. All in all a great evening. Thanks Flat iron.

One of the best steak cuts I've tasted, tender, juicy, good beef flavour. Better than fillet, rump, sirloin or whatever. And beats then all on price too. And a restaurant that gives free pop corn and ice-cream is surely a winner. And you gotta try the truffled macaroni cheese - the truffles actually slams you to heaven. Can't fault them.

Excellent steak at a very good price point (£13 as of July 2023). Ordered the flat iron steak which came medium rare as requested alongside a local craft lager and a side of beef dripping fries. Service was quick, food was excellent, and found room for 2 people to store large suitcases whilst we ate. Better than steaks I have had at much higher price points. Free Tahitian ice cream was given after the meal which was genuinely up there with the best ice cream I've had. Would definitely go here again next time I'm in London

This is the second time we have eaten at Flat Iron in King's Cross. I had the sirloin steak and my partner ordered their house steak. The sides were truffle oil chips, bone marrow mash, roasted aubergine, and a green salad. All of it was good and I recommend it. The only sticking point is that the steaks are quite small. My 200g sirloin was flat and and too small for a steakhouse. On the positive side all dishes tasted great. I would definitely order the aubergine side dish again.

A good place if you're looking for a simple steak. Simply walk in and either you get a table straight away or you wait on their bar for about 30 min. Once you order all goes quickly. The steaks are good as well as the side dishes. If you get a token you can exchange it for an ice cream on the way out.

This is not a place for veggies I am just letting you all know. If you are a meat lover, well you are in for a treat. Not only the quality is incredible but the price!! In LONDON!!! The service was incredible and super quick. The guys there are so lovely and friendly and have great banter too. I ordered the steak and two sides (Mac and cheese and fries)

We were welcomed warmly upon our arrival at Flat Iron Kings Cross branch. The venue was intimately lit, tables generously spaced out and lively without being overly loud. There are at least two levels: a street level and a basement, which is without windows but is close to the toilet and kitchen. I had not been to Flat Iron before and was pleased that the menu basically had two choices: steak or burger. That made the choosing easier! As you will see from the photograph, I plumped for a rare steak and chips with a ginger beer on the side. The ginger beer knocked my socks off - very flavoursome and enjoyable. The steak, however, was rather small and unfortunately quite flavourless. The chips, too, were nothing to write home about. Sadly both food items became mere shovels for ketchup - simply put, neither had much flavour. At the end, we were given a voucher to exchange for ice cream cones upstairs - we both very much enjoyed our ice cream, which was creamy and intensely chocolaty. Overall, because the service was very pleasant, the venue nice, and the drink and ice cream tasty, I left happy, though I would not go back for a main meal.
