Spotted this pub on the way to Buckingham Palace from the tube, and it was a great place to take a rest for lunch. Staff was very accommodating , and had me read a tablet for food allergies and sign off on being aware that my allergens were in the kitchen, and that the chef would also be notified. It is always nice when pubs/restaurants are educated on food allergies and make you feel confident that you won't be playing russian roulette with your meal. The Steak and Ale pie lived up to my expectations. All the food that was ordered by my party was thoroughly enjoyed. They also have you pay after you order, so there's no worry later about the bill.

Bartender was very friendly, and the atmosphere had a nice traditional pub feel, but with clean and modern toilets. A few screens around to watch sports, they even opened early for the women's world cup match. Great place for a pint, a quick bite. Or even to catch a big match. Convenient stop between Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace if you are out sightseeing.

We went here for lunch. My wife had some great Mac and cheese while I had the chips and wings. The wings were okay, but everything else was great. Great service great atmosphere, drinks priced well. Would come again

Went in the try the famous fish and chips, and I enjoyed it! The lady who runs the place was friendly and was especially patient towards tourists (like us!) who may not know their way around pub cultures and ways. I definitely recommend!

All the stuff is so nice and helpful. They have great beers and one of the best fish and chips that I have tried.
The place itself is classic English pub, not on the main street so it even better.
My recommendation is, if you are in the area, to visit this pub.

Very helpful staff. Excellent fish and chips. Amazing beer selection. Hidden away but still busy, though, the staff never makes you feel like only a number. Would recommend to anyone looking for the real London Pub experience.

This place is were my and Mum and Dad got together in the early 70’s. A young guardsman from Wellington Barracks meets the love of his life. A fantastic place with much history for my family and others.. We had to stop and have a drink to our late Queen and our new King. Fantastic hospitality.

Typical London. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Prices are affordable for drinks and food.
We ordered a few rounds of beer an de some soft drinks and some nachos. I’ve never had English nachos and I was quite surprised with the toppings. To be honest I didn’t like them at all, but the other food I saw on other tables looked really nice.
Location is also very good.

Great experience in this very London pub!
We ordered two "Big fish and chips" and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs...
The manager is very nice and the toilets are clean.
The only downside is that the young lady at the bar is not really smiling or welcoming.
