Fallow St James's

Food was very good - all dishes were exceptional except the market fish ( I didn’t like the texture of the fish, and the sauce didn’t go very well ) & the crumble dessert ( again, the sauce was a bit weird with the ice cream). Other than that, mushroom parfait is indeed exceptional and lamb was incredibly flavourful. Service was off to a poor start with no one offering water, taking our orders for some time; but there was good service recovery later on. Atmosphere is not like a fine dining establishment but it’s very fun. Would revisit. Highly recommend the set lunch as it’s very worth the dollar spent for the creativity and quality.

Excellent food. Not cheap but good value for money, given the quality of the ingredients and care taken preparing them. Service was relaxed but competent. The corn and ribs were exceptional, as was the burger. The gravy for the roast dinners was too salty, even for someone who uses salt liberally when cooking. Conversely, the Bloody Mary could have done with salt. These are minor gripes, though. The meal as a whole was excellent and I would definitely return

I wish I visited earlier! Just a fantastic gastronomic experience all round. Atmosphere, service, staff, attentiveness and food. It was some of the best and most original food I have experienced - and I am a fussy so and so when it comes to food quality. The only one minus and constructive criticism I would give to the kitchen and that was some dishes could have been hotter. Alas, I did not complain as it was very busy and the food was still very nice. I will be back for sure. Thanks to everyone.

Excellent food - very impressed with the high quality. Favourite dishes were the leek and cheese croquettes, the mushroom parfait and the hospital cabbage. Drinks and cocktails were amazing too. Definitely try a Bloody Mary. The restaurant was packed and had a busy/bustling atmosphere. Unfortunately, we did find this impacted on the service a little. Service was slow. One of our dishes was missed off our order and waited a long time for plates to be cleared etc. Hopefully it was just an off day service wise, but the food was exceptional. Will definitely be coming back!

If you think this restaurant is overhyped by social media think wrong! This restaurant is worth the hype and I know it can be expensive but for sure worth the price. We indulged in the flavorful mushroom parfait, leek croquets, beef ribs, venison tartar, and cod head. Then for dessert we got the lemon pudding which was to die for. Every dish was beyond exceptional. Not only was the food good but the wine was perfect. Their wine expert Andrea (if I got her name right) listened to what we liked and worked her magic recommending a wine for us to drink with our meal. The service was so exceptional from the wait staff, the host(s), kitchen staff, and our beautiful wine expert. Thanks to this beautiful restaurant for making our 4 year anniversary come to a spectacular end. Make a reservation it’s a must try!

Great food. Great atmosphere. The mushroom parfait was amazing. Highly recommend the corn ribs and the Chelsea tart and strawberry cream dessert. The service was friendly and our servers are attentive and considerate. A very enjoyable experience overall. Highly recommended. Best to book in advance as they can get very busy.

DELICIOUS food! We got there by my friend's recommendation. It was really good. We got a lot of different dishes to share. That's what I would recommend to do. My top picks would be: mushrooms parfait, corn ribs, and smoked beef ribs. I really enjoyed it all! Staff was also super friendly and helpful. Note that they are usually fully booked and you need to book in advance.

Pretty good food served here and fast service. Corn ribs were like a finger food. Not easy to eat with knife and fork. The flavour was good though I thought they were on the dry side. Tender smoked beef ribs but the sauce was too salty. I don't think that's worth £6 per rib! Market fish on the day was halibut but again, the portion size did not justify the price of £40! At least it tasted good. The pork dish had a piece of pork shoulder and a piece of belly. Both were well cooked but the only downfall of it was the salty sauce...it tasted very similar to the sauce used for the ribs - soy sauce based. The best dishes had to be the fillet steak and cod head. Succulent meat and fish with beautiful sauces. The cod head dish was the largest of all and turned out to be the cheapest. What a pleasant surprise! Overall, the food here was nice, but they all can do with less salt or soy sauce! Quick service for the finger food but a short wait for the main dishes. The service wasn't always attentive but it was friendly at large.

What a fantastic place! I've been wanting to visit Fallow since it's opening and I must say it's been well worth the wait! From the moment I called to make a reservation to the moment we walked away, everything was spot on. The staff are friendly and very welcoming, the food is beyond delicious, there are great drink options, and they are very dog friendly. The service was brilliant and everyone was so lovely and helpful. My husband and I got a few bits to share, including their ever so tasty corn! The fish and the cabbage dish were divine. The beef ribs were tender and delicious. Every mouthful of each dish hit the spot. I dived into every smooth sweet bite of my dessert, and ended the meal with an espresso. I highly recommend Fallow.

We had an absolutely incredible dinner at Fallow to celebrate our first anniversary last week. Every dish had so much flavour and was so unique. As a vegetarian, there were so many dishes on the menu that I was able to try. From the cocktails, to the starters, mains and dessert, every part of our meal was delicious. Chardonnay was our server and she provided wonderful service and made excellent recommendations based on our interests/needs. Everyone has to try the cabbage!
