The Roost Ldn

Really enjoyed dinner here and will be back. Huge portion size of succulent rotisserie chicken, equally delicious and well paired sides. I only wish I had room to eat more at the restaurant, the aroma of my takeaway bag had peoples heads turning towards me on the bus 😂 Don’t bother with cocotte, support small business!

Three of us had lunch here at the weekend - two meat eaters, one vegetarian. We were all able to get the combo meals because there were delicious vegetarian options to swap out for the chicken. We shared 6 sides between us and a bottle of wine. We were all so full at the end but in the best way. Everything we ate tasted fresh and healthy. The carrot and fennel dish blew my mind and the halloumi was grilled to perfection. The portion sizes were very generous, but I couldn’t stop myself eating because it was all SO good. The chutney was unlike anything I’ve eaten before and I can’t stop thinking about it. I can’t wait to go back and have it all again. I’m desperate to try the other veggie options. We could only manage one dessert because we were so full -we had the cheesecake - and it was heavenly! Will be raving about this for a long time. (Side note: the music was also 5 star)

This is a fairly new eaterie (and takeaway) on the Blackstock Road which unfortunately is often empty! It shouldn't be: this page is great and we hope it lasts! This time around we had the Date Night (1/2 chicken, three sides and three sauces) and a bottle of wine. It was all sublime (especially the leak and bacon side!). All cooked to perfection and the sauces a great accompaniment. At £43.95 it might be a little on the pricey side but personally I think it was worth it. Staff are very friendly and attentive, toilet is clean and kids are very welcome (the kids' vegetables is exactly what it should be!). Oh, and if you don't eat chicken (bearing in mind this is a rotisserie chicken place) their veggie options are great, too. So a plea from me: go, eat, have fun and let's hope this place stays!
