The Aubrey

I'd say it's more of a bar with Japanese inspired food rather than a Japanese restaurant. The food was fusion inspired with more high end options such as wagyu gyozas. The atmosphere is really vibrant with ornate decor all around. The bar area is substantial with separate seating. I'm giving 4 stars because the food was okay for the price and it's more so the atmosphere and the bar that I reckon would draw people in. Overall, an interesting restaurant to have drinks and a different snack but it might not be for everyone's taste.

It’s one of the many Japanese themed restaurants in the city with a classic menu of grilled food / robata / sushi and sashimi with a mix of rice and noodles combination…! Tried the chicken / sushi and sashimi along with the bone marrow rice and duck mains.! Everything was delicious but portions of sushi and sashimi were small and expensive compared to your usual restaurants and I guess that’s because it’s in Mandarin hotel. Duck with sweet potato was really nice and so was bone marrow rice. Service was excellent. Wines are by glass and are on average £18 a glass of 125 mls … no half bottles on menu. Verdict 5/5 Budget £200 for 2 without wine bottles or cocktails So overall it’s a great place with a big wallet

Really high quality place. Great Japanese food with amazing service and atmosphere. Some dishes had overpowering flavours and the rice was quite oily. Overall the food was good. I recommend the beef ribs. The atmosphere was actually really great, there’s a lot of sound dampening furniture which makes it quite comfortable even when it’s busy.

My girlfriend and I had our date night at the Aubrey, and it was quite delightful. We had Edamame, the Wagyu Sando, their Signature Sushi Set, Lobster Fried Rice, the Mushroom Gyoza, Black Sesame Cheesecake, and the Chocolate and Sakura. It was all really wonderful! *One of the sushi pieces had crunchy ants on it!! The service was amazing, and the bartender fixed amazing cocktails. I would definitely return to the Aubrey!

Wow, that restaurant you recommended was amazing! The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. I can't wait to go back again! Very friendly staff! Excellent food and made us all full. Very good vibe will defo come here again. Chicken karage was 10/10!! Would recommend this and worth the money!
